Gunmakers in nearby Wichita Falls made high-quality firearms that could compete with those locally made in Robinsonville. In 1870, the community of Robison merged with neighboring Wichita Falls to form the city of Wichita Falls. At this time, gunmaking activity continued to thrive as citizens purchased quality firearms from local manufacturers. Many of these guns still survive today and are used by collectors or used as museum pieces.

Robinson, Texas is a small town located in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. The population was 1,813 at the 2000 census and grew to 2,114 by the 2010 census. It is part of the Brownsville-New Braunfels metropolitan area. The name "Robinson" comes from José de la Rosa Robinson who settled there in 1849. He was one of thirteen children born to Spanish parents who had come overland from Santa Fe, New Mexico. In 1851, José married Anna Maria Ortiz and they started a family. In 1870 John Denton founded what would become Denton County seat at San Fernando Valley; it was soon renamed Dallas after James Kenedy's purchase of land near that location in 1872 for $1 million (now part of Dallas). In 1903 Elisha Beal bought 516 acres adjoining his rancho Grande de las Flores (later known as Robinson Ranch) from Manuel Moreno Burgos for $20 per acre ($640 per km²). This left behind an open space measuring 106 acres (40 hectares) east-west and 30 acres (12 hectares) north-south with a single house on it before he donated it to Houston Institute for Latin American Studies in 1932

The town also hosted several major events during its history – such as the opening of Congress Hall on October 25, 1860, which marked Texas' entry into Confederation with Mexico; or when President Ulysses S. Grant visited Robinson on July 4th,1885 to sign legislation creating local Self-Government Agencies within Texas. In recent years, however, Robinson has seen increasing development and popularity among residents due to its proximity to Austin and other metropolitan areas. This growth has led to increased traffic congestion and some negative consequences such as lower property values around town – although there are still many people who live close to their jobs or prefer rural lifestyle. Despite these challenges, though, Robinson remains an important community whose history provides insights into today's Lone Star State.

Robinson was founded in 1849 by a group of men led by Captain Robert Robinson. The town was named for Captain Robinson, who had been involved in the Texas Revolution. The town grew rapidly, and by 1860 it had a population of over 100 people. In 1871, Robinson became the county seat of Robertson County.
