The main purpose of this base was to provide munitions for Allied forces fighting in Europe. After the war ended in 1945, many families left Robinson for other parts of Texas because of high taxes and economic difficulties within the town itself. However, some residents decided to stay and continue their traditions such as hosting annual Christmas parties for all local businesses together until today. Today, Robinson is a small town with around 200 residents which is still home to many of its traditional values such as its winter carnival which attracts over 1 million visitors every year and its annual agricultural fair which has been held since 1907
Robinson County was organized on November 3, 1837, following the creation of Texas. The county seat was Robinsonville.
