Today, RedOak remains an active community with many cultural attractions including several museums including the Amon Carter Museum of American Art and North Dallas Playground which offers free summer hours for children age 3 to 12 years old; numerous restaurants such as Longhorn Steak House & ChopHouse; three football teams - the Colts/ Texans/ Cowboys - each playing their home games at AT&T Stadium; two high school sports programs -the Jayhawk Indians' NCAA Division I Football program played in Carrollton while Lake Travis High School plays in Richardson; two professional baseball teams -the Rangers/Athletics - play in Odessa while Lone Star Brewing Company operates out of a brewery complex adjacent to downtown that includes restaurant locations across town including Five Points Brewery.; multiple retailers including Sears Hardware Store; John Deere tractor dealership located just east of town off FM 1960 on US 287; Myriad Shakespeare theaters which offer productions throughout the year including performances at 4 different amphitheaters within walking distance from various points within town including La Cantera Park ; parkland used for athletic events such as soccer tournaments and golf tournaments as well as concerts and special events such as christmas season.;and much more

By 1880, however, red oak had become an agricultural center and its residents were largely engaged in raising cattle and soybeans. The growth of cotton production began to slow duringthe late 1800s as water supplies became increasingly limited. In 1925, Red Oak came under federal jurisdiction following the creation of Webb County; at this time it had a population of just 514 residents. By 1930 it had shrunk to fewer than 100 residents. However, due to its strategic location on I-10 and its close proximity to major urban areas such as Dallas and Houston, Red Oak continued to be popular among automobile manufacturers and entrepreneurs until the 1960s when its economy declined significantly due to declining oil prices. In recent years there has been some activity around revitalization projects such as new housing development and restoration of older buildings; however overall economic conditions have not changed much since the 1990s
