Here we will take a look at some of the most common types of gun swivels available today. The standard type of gun swivel is the helically shaped gear wheel (Fig 1). It has two helical arms that rotate around one another to allow the firearm to be rotated 360 degrees. These gunswives were originally designed for use with old-fashioned revolvers which had manual knobs on the barrel that could be twisted to rotate the revolver's cylinder. More recent designs include those using electronic triggers which can be twist manually or automatically; however, all gear wheels offer some degree of stability when revolving around their axle(s). There are several different types of bearings used in gear wheels: roller bearings, ball bearings, and belt bearings (Fig 2). Roller bearing systems tend to be more stable than ball bearing systems because they do not overheat during rotation; however, they can also suffer from noise issues if not lubricated well. Ball Bearings are usually more expensive but provide better performance than belt bearings because they do not require lubrication; however, they can also become locked up during rotation if not properly tensioned. Belt Bearing systems tend to be less expensive but provide poorer performance than roller bearings because they experience greater resistance when rotating (Figs 3 & 4).

Today, Port Neches is home to a number of businesses and cultural institutions, including the University ofTexas at Austin and the Baylor University School of Medicine.
