In 2001, Plains Allaynichannel company merged with Jardine Communications Corporation which owned KPNX radio stations (channel 6) acrossTexas including(then) TXTV affiliate Waco TV station (channel 7). At that time, Jardine Communications Corporation also acquired Infinity Broadcasting Corp., which then ownsthe sixTelevision networks including Fox News Channel(which had not been affiliatedwith any network at that point), CNNfn(which had affiliations with ABC&CBS networks), CNBC(whose parent companyowned NBCUniversal), Lifetime Network[which had affiliations with The Movie Network], OWN Television[which had affiliations withe Oxygen Media Networks]and Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.[the parent companyof Buena Vista Pictures] resultinginthe formationof Penn Central Telecommunications Corporation.(later known as Verizon Communication Group).
