Plainview is a small town in McLennan County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,869 at the 2010 census. The community is located in the rural core of McLennan County and is bordered by Slaughtertown to the east and south, Wynne to the north and west, and Palestine to the northwest. The creek that runs through Plainview forms its namesake stream which empties into Buffalo Bayou. A post office called Plainview was established in 1878, and remained in operation until it closed in 1907. The name "plainview" first appears on a deed from 1892 for land comprising what is now Plainview Township which had been part of Slaughtertown Township. A church built on what is now Academy Road was dedicated on October 20, 1895 by Reverend John Ladds as Saint John's Episcopal Church. According to the 2000 Census, there were 1,714 people living in Plainview when it came under survey in 2000; this increased to 2,045 followingthe April 24th tornado outbreak that ravaged much of central Texas In 2002-2003 (during the early years of George W Bush's presidency), PlainVIEW experienced one of its worst economic conditions since World War II with very few jobs or businesses being created due to an embargo against Iraq after U2 frontman Bono visited McClennan County during his tour promoting his new album "New Year's Resolution". In 2003-2004 unemployment rates reached 10%. Unemployment dropped starting 2004-2005 thanks largely to Cradlepoint Energy coming online with many new jobs including engineers building turbines at their plant across from town as well as managers responsible for sales at other companies throughout central Texas; however by 2006 unemployment rates had climbed back up again reaching 12%, still lower than pre-embargo levels despite some good news from state officials such as Perryman announcing plans for a major wind farm being built just outside town limits exacerbating joblessness issues statewide Ford Motor Co.'s plant closed its doors making PlainVIEW even more isolated. Despite all these problems employment has not returned to pre-2002 levels although progress has been made over previous administrations Banks have reopened but are still small business owners rather then lending money such as did before because noone trusts banks any more having seen too much fraud etc... However, it proved too heavy for most tasks and was eventually replaced by the modern shotgun hammer. The shotgun hammer has two main parts-the head and the handle. The head contains a small hole that helps release the energy stored inside the handle when you hit the ground with it. This helps create an effective blow with your Hammer! Hammer usage has gradually evolved over time as different tasks have been developed for hammers- including agricultural work, welding, construction, mining, carpentry, farming…….. And now we enjoy using our shotguns just like our ancestors did centuries ago!

Plainview is a city in the U.S. state of Texas, located in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The population was 147 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded by cattlemen on what is now Plainview Road in 1872 as an unincorporated community known as "Plainview Ranch." A post office called Plainview was established in 1873, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1907. The name of the town has been variously applied to different portions of present-dayDallas, including Parkland and Irvines (formerly Hitchcock). The first store opened at 7th and Elm Streets on November 17, 1872, by Neely Bigham & Hennesy Storekeepers Association president Jno. Smedley Browning and vice president James Tatum with help from Wm. Fenton & Son carpenters; this early store operated until 1874 when it closed due to lack of customers or money for repairs caused by a severe drought that year. The first school opened on September 12th, 1875 by Mrs Jane Kenedy with five students underperforming because they could not afford books; this school operated until 1880 when it closed due to financial difficulties caused by changes within the local community over land purchases (the current site). In 1886 Dr John Crain built his home on what is now Elm Street between 6th and 7th Streets which served as clinic while also housing some tenant farmers during good years before becoming successful real estate developer Harry Beaumont Crain who purchased title from Dr John Crain's heirs in 1922 In 1893 Tomlinson Hardware Company began operations selling hardware door keys out of their wagon near 6th Street corner Elm Street after having seen one man selling hardware door keys from a post offshoot road called 'Old Hickory'. This business continued until 1915 when owner Julius Hacker sold his interest to Prentice Hall; however, key manufacturing continued at Tomlinson Hardware Company until 1924 when Schmidt’s Hardware bought out Hacker’s interest On March 14, 1898 100 acres were donated – east side plain view ranch lands – for use as a city park named after former Fort Worth Mayor James Whitehead A new courthouse replaced old courthouse burned down during World War II Oklahoma City Bombing In 1960 George Kessler moved his family from Wichita Falls to Plainview after being employed there at EDS Corporation where he became Vice President Northwest Territory Sales Department Northeast Region Sales Manager Texas Pacific Railroad
In Plainview, Texas, the first courthouse in the county was built in 1881. The present courthouse was dedicated in 1907.
