Gun chokes have been a part of American culture since the 18th century. They were originally used as effective methods of restraining suspects during interrogations, and continue to be used in this way to this day. The first recorded use of a gun choke was in 1796, when an Englishman named John Ambler tried to stop an escape attempt by two Native Americans. He placed a cloth over the barrel of his rifle and secured it with a piece of wire. This method was later replaced by using a padlock on the choke tube. Gun chokes are stillused today in many ways, including for controlling access to firearms, keeping criminals from escaping custody, and protecting people from themselves or others.

Plainview is a small town in Hidalgo County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The first settler in Plainview was A.G. Smith who arrived in 1885 and built a homestead on the plain east of present day Plainview High School. The name "Plainview" was given to the place by Mr. Ewing of Wichita Falls, Kansas for his own home field which he had located near Amarillo on US 67 northwest of Plainview. In 1901, James Wolk and his family moved from Wichita Falls to establish Wolk's Store which remains one of PlainVIEW's most prominent businesses today along with Wolk's Grain Elevator and house that still stands today as the only remaining example of a two-story red brick building erected between 1903 and 1907 in Plainsville also known as "Wolk's Homeplace". The post office opened in 1911 under the name "Amarillo". After World War I, when it became clear that there would be no more shipments from El Paso because of construction projects along I-10, Amarillo sent its mail via stagecoach to PlainVIEW where it was delivered by hand until 1926 when an express service began using locomotives. The first intercity train crossing plainsville came on May 5th 1923 when CSX Railroad passenger car #5265 pulled into town from McAllister Depot near Fort Worth for a stopover at Plainsville before continuing on to Templetown Junction north of Dallas before continuing down I-10 to El Paso where it arrived safely at Union Station late that evening - something that hadn't been done since 1892! It wasn't long before people started coming here to raise cotton and wheat which led to development around what is now Main Street including stores such as Jensens' Grocery (now Masterpiece Markets), Bates' Furniture (later Sears), Allis-Chalmers flour mills (now KFC), Prairie View A&M University (later UTAustin) and many others over time culminating with construction of what is now Plainview High School in 1909/10 followed by Elmhurst Baptist Church in 1916/17 and finally Center Park Community Hall in 1930/31 - all three structures still standing today!

Plainview is a small town in Potter County, Texas, United States. The population was 809 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Amarillo–Texarkana Metropolitan Statistical Area. Plainview started as an agricultural community in 1907 on the east side of Potter County near present-day Corinth. At its peak, Plainview had a population of 1,500 and a school system that included three schools and one dispensary. However, by 1920 Plainview had lost most of its people to relocation to Amarillo or other parts of the country. The town's first post office was opened in 1909 and served until it was discontinued in 1913 due to lack of customers. The first store opened in 1911 and lasted until 1922 when it closed because of low sales. In 1916, the township trustees voted to name the new town after General John J. Pershing because he had been born there on July 6th that year (the date has since been changed to Independence Day). A post office called "Pershing" continued operation until it was discontinued in 1923 due to low volumes; however, it still remained open as a hotel for several years before closing down again. The original building which now stands as the only building remaining from early Plainview is actually from 1892 which is when platted land began being developed around what would become PlainVIEW including much of what is now Potter County Today’s plain view sits atop this foundation dating back over 125 years ago
The Plainview area was founded in 1853 by Colonel John H. Brown, a Texas military officer and founder of Brownsville. The town grew rapidly for several years until it was destroyed in the 1855 Bexar County earthquake. The small community re-emerged as a farming community and later became an active commercial center with a population of around 100 people in 1860. In 1865, Plainview became the county seat of Bexar County when its predecessor, San Antonio, was abandoned due to violence and political instability following the Mexican–American War. The town experienced significant growth during Reconstruction period (1867-1912) as businesses flourished in an era of limited economic opportunity for African Americans in Texas. However, social unrest and desegregation led to decline and dissolution of the town after World War II.
