The museum has collection of over 350 rifles and shotguns from all over the world. The museum also has an exhibit on firearms restoration process which includes examples from throughout history.
Plainview, Texas is a small town in the Eagle Ford region of central Texas. The population was 1,549 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The town started as a small community near the current site of Plainview High School. In 1907, John Denton donated land to the town for school purposes and name it after himself, Plainview Township. The first school was built on what is now Main Street and opened in 1909. A new school was built on East Loop Rd in 1916, which became Plainview Junior/Senior High School before moving to its current location on South Main Street in 1968. Denton Elementary School closed in 2002 but was reopened as Plainview Middle School that year with classes starting from 3rd grade until 8th grade. In 2006, Clear Creek Intermediate School opened adjacent to Plainview Middle School and serves students from pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade. In 2009, Midland County Road 536 (now US 281) was extended eastward from its original terminus at I-35W to include much of what is now PlainVIEW while still leaving access available to Interstate 35W motorists who needed to travel southbound or westbound when reaching Easy Windmill Road or US 281 north of town limits; this caused some traffic congestion around downtown due to drivers having insufficient time to switch lanes once they reached I-35W just outside town limits; however, this extension has since been reduced somewhat by adding an extra exit off I-35W just outside town limits serving Midland County residents only instead of extending all the way across I-35W as proposed originally

Plainview is a small town in McLennan County, Texas. The population was 1,925 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The first settler in Plainview was Isaac Fenton, who arrived in 1827. He built a cabin on Prairie Creek and named it Fenton's Station. In 1830, he married Anna Smith and they moved to what is now Plainview Township. They had six children: John, Sarah, Isaac Jr., Jameson, Nancy and Josephine. In 1851-1852, Captain George Ivey mapped out the present day town of Plainview on land that he donated to the county for $100. On November 17, 1836, Plainview was founded by Captain John S. Goodloe and his wife, Sarah J. Goodloe. The Goodloe family had moved from Missouri in 1833 and started a ranch in what is now the town of Plainview. They named their new settlement after the Plains of Abraham, which they saw in the distance while on horseback. The Goodloe family operated their ranch for many years before selling it to Cimarron Rancho temporal founder Antonio López de Santa Anna in 1851. In 1865, Texas statehood was granted to the United States, and as a result, the Goodloe property passed into U.S. hands In 1870-71, Captains George Waddell and Hiram Wright bought part of the ranch from Santa Anna's heirs Wright ran the farm until his death in 1908 In 1916-17, Captain Edward Fenton took over management of the farm Fenton left it to his son Justus Fenton who continued running it until he died in 1966
