Plainview, Texas is located in the Central Texas region of the United States. The community began as a small farming town, and slowly grew into an agricultural center during the late 1800s. The development of transportation helped Plainview become a major center for shipping crops and goods to markets in nearby Dallas and Austin. During World War I entry into World War I led to increased production at The Gunsmith Shop; however production ceased after hostilities ended on November 11th 1918 due to economic reasons unrelated to war efforts In 1921 when Plainview incorporated as a city it became apparent that there would need more than just handguns being produced within the city limits because rifle manufacturing would not continue outside of city limits given that nearly everyone within City Limits owned farmland which could not be used for agricultural purposes anymore As gun manufactures relocated outside of cities during this time period there continued demand for handguns so Mayor Sam Hubbard formed committee comprised mostly civilians consisting of himself along with three other citizens - WF Higginbotham(reporter for KXAN radio station) Harry Hinton(owner/operator Lone Star Dairy) Mr George Stagliano who was then employed by Consolidated Foods plants near Fort Worth . The Plainview Rifle and Pistol Club has a rich firearms history dating back to the early 1800s. The club was formed in 1881, and has been meeting regularly ever since. In 1916, the club sponsored and won first place in the Texas Rifle Association's (TRA) then-new national competition series. From that year through 1919, Plainview R&P Club continued to be a “pioneering” organization in the sport of rifle shooting. In 1932, Plainview became one of just a handful of towns in Texas to enact its own Firearms Ordinance (FO). This ordinance barred any person from owning or using any firearm except for hunting purposes within town limits. Through this regulation, Plainview became one of the most restrictive firearm communities in Texas. It is interesting to note that this ordinance did not apply to handguns – only rifles and pistols were banned. After World War II ended, gun ownership began returning to normal levels in Plainview as more people returned home from military service. However, due to regulations enacted by then-Governor John Connally after the war, handgun ownership remained atypical among Prairie View A&M University students – only 3% of undergraduate students had handguns while 90% owned rifles or shotguns. In 1978, pursuant to an agreement between TRA and Plainsville Rifle & Pistol Club (PRPC), both organizations jointly organized what would become known as "The National Championship Series". This event pitted PRPC against local rifle clubs from around the country forthe purpose of staging exhibitions and winning trophies entitling participants to competitive berths at TRA's annual meetings in Las Vegas. After many years of successful hosting, THE NATIONALS reached its ultimate goal – becoming a world championship event! This auspicious milestone occurred on September 12th 1988 when PRPC hosted their final NORMAL event at Plainsville Shotgun Range with over 120 entries from all 50 US states being represented! In 2013 PLAINVIEW RIFLE AND PISTOL CLUB celebrates 100 years since it first met on October 15th 1911 !

Plainview is a small town in Taylor County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,569 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Brownsville–Harlingen, TX Metropolitan Statistical Area. Plainview was founded in 1881 when two families from California came to Texas to homestead land near present-day Harlingen. The first settler, John Whitehead, and his family built a cabin on what is now White Street. In 1902, John's grandson Noland Whitehead donated land to the town for a general store and schoolhouse. The first town hall was built in 1907 on what is now Main Street. In 1925, the town ceded ownership of its water system to neighboring Brownsville so that they could build their own dam and power plant downstream. After years of debate over which municipality should take responsibility for infrastructure needs in Plainview Township (now Harlingen), the township trustees voted 6-3 in favor of building a new school on Town square instead of waiting for an appropriation from the state government as had been planned before the donation by Noland Whitehead. In 1954 Plainview voters passed an ordinance establishing themselves as their own government with full voting rights instead of being subject to decisions made by either Brownsville or Dallas City Councils. At that time there were only a few hundred residents living withinits borders – most of them farmers – but since then PlainVIEW has become one of South Texas’s leading agricultural communities with more than 2 million acres (10,000 hectares) registered as corn and soybean crops alone last year! Today PlainVIEW boasts one high school - plainview High School - plus several smaller schools: Agrarian College Prepatory Academy; Clearbrook Intermediate School; Prairie View Intermediate School; Clearbrook Junior-Senior Academy; Plainsong Middle/High School; Stonewall Middle/High School which serves students from grades 7 through 12th grade; and Park Heights Elementary School which serves students kindergarten through 4th grade. We also have several businesses: 3 grain mills operated by Gossage Grain & Feed Ltd.; Canopy Nursery (& Daycare); Community Health Services Clinic - run by Sisters HealthCare out of their facility on US Hwy 281 opposite Walmart where you can find many services including abortions (non-profit); Our Lady Of Peace Catholic Church across street from grocery store closed down because it did not meet parish standards & we are working on finding another provider for services currently offered there; Anheuser Busch Brewery Plant adjacent to high school served as our local source for beer until it closed down about 5 years ago & we are looking into getting alternative sources available again soon!

At that time, rifle manufacture still relied heavily upon smelting lead ore from ancient mines in central Pennsylvania thus giving rise to some pretty terrible hygiene conditions inside the factories! However, Whitney Firedarms quickly became world-renowned for their fine elegance within the firearms industry – even today they are considered one of America’s leading manufacturers!

Plainview, Texas is located in Hudspeth County, Texas, and was founded in 1879. The town was named after PlainVIEW Creek which flows through the community. The creek and the surrounding land were first surveyed by Colonel John Hance in 1876. A post office was established at Plainview in 1880, and a cotton gin was built there in 1886. The population of Plainview peaked at about 5,000 people during the 1920s, but declined thereafter. In 1939, the United States government acquired 1/2 acre (0.16 km²) of land from J.D. White for use as a military airbase.* After World War II ended, the airbase became known as Elmendorf Air Force Base* and Plainview's economy improved until the mid-1980s when it began todecline again due to high interest rates and weak job growth opportunities*. A fire struck Plainview on December 19th of 1985*, leaving over 100 homes destroyed*; this event has been referred to as "the most devastating natural disaster in Hudspeth County history". The townsfolk rebuilt quickly with help from donations and local businesses; however, some aspects of their old town remain abandoned or underutilized* - such as Elmendorf High School which closed circa 1990 due to financial difficulties*.
