When Pearland, Texas was founded in 1879, the town had just a few hundred residents. But within a decade, the population had exploded and by 1907 there were over 2,000 people living in the town. The reason for this growth was twofold: First, Pearland developed as a local trading center due to its position on the Houston- Galveston Railroad and second, gun control laws passed during Reconstruction made it difficult for black Americans to own firearms. However, despite these limitations, Pearland's businesses thrived and by 1915 there were 10 gun shops operating in the town. The prohibition of alcohol also led to an increase in gun sales. Gun stores became important sources of ammunition and though they were not immune to raids by law enforcement officers looking for illegal weapons, they continued to operate successfully. This prosperity also allowed Forney Manufacturing Company (now Colt) to establish itself as one ofPearland's leading manufacturers of firearms. In 1918 Forney produced its first handgun and soon after began producing pistols and revolvers for both civilian and military use. In 1919 gunfire erupted at a dancehall near downtown Pearland which left four dead and dozens injured. Prompted by this tragedy, Congress passed the National Firearms Act which banned most handguns except those made specifically for hunting or target shooting purposes. This ban effectively ended gun ownership by black Americans but it did not stop Gun Store owners from continuing to sell firearms to African American customers. In fact, many Gun Stores went on to become successful White-owned businesses that continue today as part of the Pistol & Rifle industry in Texas

In general, however, the following should be considered when choosing a firearm clothing line: -Wearing appropriate clothes when outside of the home or office: Hats, sunglasses, raincoats and umbrellas are allappropriate attire when outdoors. If you live in a cold climate or spend much time outside in bad weather conditions, consider bringing along layers of clothes as well as gloves and boots. -When inside the house: Make sure you have appropriate coveralls and jackets that will keep you warm while you work on your firearm. This includes pants and long sleeves under chef jackets or other Jackets with sleeves that reach your elbows. Be sure to bring along any tools that may be necessary such as power tools or screwdrivers with you when working on firearms (these items can get wet). Don't forget sunscreen! -When travelling with your firearm: Make sure you take along all necessary paperwork including insurance cards and registration forms for both your vehicle and your firearms. Firearms operators transporting their weapons must also carry documentation proving they are compliant with state law regarding transport

The popularity of shotguns led to a rise in prices for firearm Clothing, but this did not prevent many people from purchasing new firearms apparel including pants and jackets specific to shotgun shooting attire. 1) Shotgun Shooting Uniforms: Shotgun shooting attire first started becoming popularized with pistols during World War I when it became easier for shooters to conceal their firearms while on the battlefield. However, shotguns continued to be used extensively for hunting purposes until about 1950 when all handguns were banned in most countries except those that allow thematic gun control laws (e.g., California). Consequently, shotguns continue to be one of the most popular weaponry among shooters around the world today! In addition to trousers and jackets specifically tailored for shotgun use, other types of firearm clothing are also common such as helmets (which protect against bullet fragments), goggles (to protect against bright sunlight), gloves (to stop hands from getting dirty), belts (to keep ammunition away from children), water bottles (for keeping drinks cold while you shoot), etc... It should be noted that even though rifles are now outlawed in many places where they once thrived (!?), there are still plenty of folks who purchase rifle ammunition wearing paramilitary style gear!

On November 3, 1836, a group of farmers and adventurers gathered at the old Adobe Walls ranch on the present-day Pearland Ranch to sign a treaty establishing Texas as an open territory. This event is generally considered the beginning of the Republic of Texas.
