Pasadena, Texas is located in the Mexican state of Baja California and has a population of over 210,000. The city was founded on November 9th, 1871 by James W. The history of Pasadena can be traced back to when traders from Vera Cruz made their way down the Rio Grande through what is now downtown Paso Robles towards the Los Angeles Basin in 1693 pursuant to trade with inland Californios seeking access to precious goods coming down from Mexico City. By 1800 Mission Santa Barbara had been established at what is now downtown La Jolla and several other Mission towns scattered throughout southern Baja California had also sprung up during this time period including Tijuana, Guadalajara and Loreto among others. From here travelers would journey northward along Interstate 10 towards missionsadera (now Downtown LA) before turning east onto Route 66 for their final leg towards eastern San Diego County where they could find passage into Texan soil on arriving vessels either via Navidad or Yuma Pass which lay between these two points on route I-10 across present day Orange County en route southward into Arizona Territory then west into Nevada Territory ultimately terminating at Sacramento River near modern Yucca Valley).
