German colonists moved into Pasadena after World War II; they were followed by Italians and Irish after the war ended. Asian groups also arrived over time: Japanese-Americans lived until they were forcibly relocated during World War II; Koreans settled in areas near University Park before moving out again following Korean aggression towards Japan in 1945. Hispanic/Latino families have also made significant contributions to Pasadena over the years: Latinos formed several waves of migration throughout the 1970s and 1980s; Asian refugees streamed into town after China opened up economy under Deng Xiaoping; among these groups are numerous Filipino Americans who continue to make a Significant Contributions to our city today despite high levels of cultural diversity within their social networks
