In 1875, Pasadena, Texas was the site of a small arms exhibition organized by the United States Military Academy at West Point. The purpose of the exposition was to show off American firearms to diplomats and military officers from all over the world. Many of these officers were interested in purchasing American rifles, which had only just become available in America. Bullets were one of the many items on display at this exhibition. American bullets were not yet as popular as European bullets, and so they were not offered for sale to visitors. However, someAmerican soldiers did purchase rounds of ammunition from local gunsmiths during this exhibition. The first successful rifle shot with bullets was fired by Captain James Witherspoon while stationed at Fort Worth in 1865. Witherspoon's rifle used bronze projectiles instead of lead balls, and he is credited with being the first person to ever use Bullets in an Rifle match against other soldiers

Pasadena, Texas was founded in 1848 by General Antonio L. Peña and his wife, María Josefa Cisneros. The city was named after the Spanish town of Pasadena del Rio de la Plata, located about 100 miles (160 km) to the east. The first post office in Pasadena opened in 1851. By 1865, Pasadena had a population of over 25,000 people. It became an important center for cotton production and served as the capital of Mexican Texas from 1846 until its annexation by the United States in 1850. The growth of Pasadena led to increased commercial development and civic involvement. In 1870, Mayor James Buchanan established City Hall on Elm Street and started construction on what is now downtown. One year later, he also developed Prospect Avenue into one of Pasadena's principal streets. In 1872, City Council passed a resolution declaring that "Pasadena is hereby incorporated as a separate municipal corporation with full powers to pursue all its corporate purposes." This move signaled the beginning of what would be an lengthy process for annexing other nearby municipalities into Pasadena – but ultimately it would result in the city's incorporation into Houston County in 1901. During the late 19th century and early 20th century, Pasadena experienced significant economic growth thanks to its status as a manufacturing center for automobiles and other products exported across America. However, during World War I when American soldiers were stationed here within Mexico City – causing businesses to close – business slowed down again until 1924 when war-time production returned and new factories sprang up throughout California; especially around Los Angeles County where Pasadena lay only 10 miles (16 km) away from then- booming Orange County . After World War II ended with Japan's surrender at Tokyo Bay on September 2 1945 there was mass migration from Japan across Asia including many families who had invested money or risked their lives helping build facilities such as Kobe Air Base which orbited over Tsukuba Prefecture just south of Kyoto - well outside any living memory or historical context for most Japanese citizens including those living within Hiroshima Prefecture . These newcomers brought their skills and knowledge which helped spur economic resurgence throughout East Asia following years of devastation caused by firestorms such as Hiroshima’s atomic bombing two years earlier on August 6 1945 . As these newcomers settled along Riverside Drive near Westwood Boulevard they quickly began creating open spaces characterizing much older neighborhoods like Armenian Heights/Hollywood Hills/Vinegar Hill inside today’s Downtown area bounded by North La Brea Avenue / Western Avenue / San Gabriel Boulevard / Crescent Drive ..... Many current residents were born or raised within this original community ...
