There have been numerous shootings in and around Orange, Texas since the 1800s. Some of the most significant incidents include: The Battle of Orange (1859) was fought between Confederate forces and Union troops throughout the town. The confrontation led to several casualties on both sides, including a fatally shot U.S. Major General James Longstreet. The Siege of Fort Stockton (1865-67) began when Confederate forces besieged the fort after it was captured by Union troops under General Robert E. Lee. The siege lasted for three months before being ended by an artillery bombardment from Union batteries across town. The Battle of Mansfield Park (1911) took place in nearby Mansfield Park Heights as part of a widespread civil war protest against Governor John Connally’s invitation for a parade through Dallas that would honor then-President William McKinley’s role in World War I. More than fifty people were killed and more than one hundred were injured during the battle, which remains the deadliest civil rights march in American history at that time.

Today Orange remains an important community for its businesses, culture, education institutions, shopping opportunities, dining options, etc., making it an ideal place to call home.

Orange, Texas is a small town located in Medina County, Texas, United States. It was founded in 1838 by Captain John Kirby and his family. The settlement was named for the orange tree that grew nearby. In 1840, Orange became the county seat of Medina County. The first post office in Orange opened on May 1, 1841. In 1845, the railroad arrived in Orange and changed the demographic makeup of the town. By 1860, over 50% of the population were white people and only 3% were African American. The cotton crop declined after 1865 and orange production ceased altogether in 1925. During World War II, there was a large military base here called Fort Sam Houston which employed many people from Orange.
Orange is a city in the U.S. state of Texas, located in Orange County. It was founded on July 3, 1873, by Andrew W. Baylor and James Dickson as a town called Wacoalba. The name "Wacoalba" may be derived from the Apache word for "place of cattle." Baylor named the city after his wife's ancestress, Orange Hancey Baylor. The first courthouse in Orange was built in 1874 and served until it burned down in 1901. A new courthouse was built and served until it also burned down in 1901. The second court house was also built but it too caught on fire and was demolished in 1902. A third court house wasbuilt but it too caught on fire and also burnt down in 1902-3. In 1912, Orange incorporated as a city with a population of about 50 people under the jurisdiction of City Hall which still exists today as part of the Parks Department complex within University Park at I-10 and FM 620 (formerly US 281). In 1916, City Hall became its own school district when Baylor donated land to that effect near what is now Downtown orange . In 1922-3, City Hall again caught on fire resulting in extensive damage including loss of many windows which were replaced with glass panes later that year; however no one was ever seriously injured or killed as a result of this fire though heavy smoke lingered almost two weeks afterwards . In 1935-6 during the Great Depression, Mayor John Smedley ordered all public works projects to halt because he didn’t feel they could be completed without government workers being laid off or quitting their jobs due to economic hardships caused by global recession then underway at that time . This moratorium continue through 1936 when budget surplus allowed for resumed work Projects only after passage of legislation authorising increased appropriations from State Government specifically earmarked for such purpose CityHall experienced another major firedrill blaze starting around 10:00pm August 9th 1951damaging most upper floors walls & ceilings stovepipe spraying kitchen area contents ingraining onto floor coverings causing extensive water damage below main floor leaving entire building inhabitable for days
