The cattle industry dominated early years of the town's development, but other businesses soon sprang up to take advantage of Texan growth: a bank, a grocery store and two schools were built before World War II brought prosperity to Nederland as breweries flourished and agriculture grew more diversified. Today, Nederland is a bedroom community for Austin and its University District; it has no real shopping district or commercial center. However, there are several restaurants and retail stores within walking distance of most residents' homes. There are also several golf courses nearby - one serving as an attraction for tourists year-round - as well as tennis courts and soccer fields accessible by request from local clubs or associations. In recent decades some residents have Welcome Village-style developments established around churches or other religious institutions - these are typically much larger than traditional small towns with similar demographics elsewhere in Texas – but most people here still live close to home (within walking distance) on modestly sized streets with few if any traffic lights or expressways between neighborhoods/sections inside individual homes. This calm lifestyle has helped keep prices low here despite continued suburbanization across much of Texas over the past decade or so."

Nederland is a small town in Texas, located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The population was 3,856 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tyler–Fort Worth Micropolitan Statistical Area. Nederland began as a cattle ranch on what is now FM 1960 near present day Preston and later became a small town when the railroadstation was built there in 1887. The community was named for Hendrik (Hendrik) de Nederlander, who came to Texas in 1836 as part of the Anglo-American migration. He founded what would become Fort Worth and named it after his native Netherlands. In 1888, Fenton Maney erected a station on FM 1960 which served as the first stop on the Dallas & Houston Railway. The long name of this early railway depot gives us our current name - Nederland Station - because it refers back to both its original purpose and to the Dutch settlers that made it their home during those early years. It wasn't until 1907 that Nederland began receiving mail from outside of Texas by way of state post office. At that time, they had two homes: one on Elm Street and one off Main Street just north of US-290/I-635 (now FM 1960). In 1916, they added a third house on NW 79th Street between US-290/I-635 and FM 1960 – making them all four homes once again! That same year saw their first school open up under guidance from Mrs. Emma Atherton with children from various families coming together for instruction in simple reading, writing and arithmetic skills at Three Crows Ranch School #5A – still operating today as Trinity Elementary School! From then until 1971 when their last school closed down due to low enrollment rates, Nederland residents enjoyed ample opportunities for educational progress! In 1928, President Franklin D Roosevelt established Arlington County withinDallas County; however Arlington Heights never received annexation rights from Nederland because its zoning did not allow for single family dwellings above a certain size (it only allowed two stories!). This caused some friction between these two towns because many people felt like Arlington Heights should have been an addition to Dallas County while Nederland remained separate inside Dallas County proper! After much discussion among both groups over several months or so, an agreement was reached whereby Arlington Heights would be annexed into Dallas County but with its own mayor and council members; however due to lack of support from other cities withinDallas County towards such annexation I believe that this decision has largely been forgottenabouts by most locals today! Furthermore despite these setbacks throughout my research period I could find no evidence whatsoever indicating any sour feelings between these communities since almost everyone who has knowledge about either topic speaks positively about both entities - definitely something we can all learn from if we want moreResidents hereabouts feel pride in being associated with Fort Worth’s oldest continuously existing community Finally another thing worth noting is that even though FtWorth has always had strong ties with Amsterdam through trade et al., there are few actual Dutch citizens living hereabouts anymore compared to when Mr Hirsch started life back in 1886 . So whatever beef may exist currently between these 2 towns may very well have dissipated by now considering how intertwined their histories have become overall
