It was in the early 1960s when a small family, the Smiths, moved to Mount Pleasant from Illinois. The Smiths were of course interested in firearms and soon began buying and selling handguns. One of the first pistols that they bought was a .22 caliber revolver. They became very familiar with this type of gun and would often take it out for target practice. In 1967, the Smiths decided to move to Texas and started looking for a new home. They found their way to Mount Pleasant through their friend Johnie's husband Bob Woodruff who lived there at the time. The Smiths met Bob while they were shopping around for a new home and he offered them his place to stay while they looked for an apartment. It was during this time that Johnie met her future husband, Bob's brother-in-law Bill McNaughtan who also lived in Mount Pleasant at the time. The Smiths finally found an apartment on Dutch Creek Drive and started moving into it on October 1st, 1967. This is when they decided that their new home would be called "The Rifle House." During their residency here, they continued purchasing handguns and enjoyed target practice quite frequently outside of their apartment building which still stands today! One interesting fact about The Rifle House is that it served as both housing and shooting range until 1994 when it was sold to another family who renovated it into an all-purpose house now known as "The Range." In total, theSmiths owned 4 handguns including 2 revolvers (one model 1903) which are still preserved today! Mount Pleasant residents have been enjoying firearms since before anyone even knew what a firearm was! At one point in history, people from Illinois actually liveuated here because our state had no restrictions against owning firearms! After arriving in Texas we quickly acquired our'e favorite pastime; handgun ownership! We continue to enjoy Targets exploration today as well as practicing our marksmanship skills outside of our doorsteps!

Mount Pleasant, Texas is a small town in Webb County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,384 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Amarillo–Edinburg–Lubbock Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Mount Pleasant post office was established in 1881, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1961. In 1903, Mount Pleasant became the site of what is now the largest cotton gin on the American continent. The plant operated until 1930. Mount Pleasant's first school was built in 1865 by J.B. Cobb and Wm Hargrave as a one-room building near present day US-183 and FM 527. In 1876 a two-room schoolhouse replaced this building; however, it burned down within 12 months due to weather conditions that included severe thunderstorms and high winds. A new schoolhouse was erected by general store owner Ebeneezer Butler with donations from settlers and local citizens in 1887; this structure served as both schools until 1923 when it burned down again due to arsonous behavior by students after being closed for repairs following an air raid during World War I which damaged several homes nearby. A new 2-story schoolbuilding (renamed Brown School after its builder) was constructed on land donated by Mrs John Fenton between 1924 and 1927; this structure served as both schools until 1955 when it also burned down after suffering damage from an explosionAfeeezer Boudreaux Elementary School opened for instruction on October 1st 1928 located on current day US 183 east of town limits across from Haley Ford Landfill - an event which has been incorrectly reported as marking the opening of her father's old farmstead bakery next door! In 1941 Mtpleasant had 7 businesses including 3 stores all west of Main Street - most notably a blacksmith shop run by Sallie Beal who later married Roy Frazier Sr., 9 miles north of town & ran his familys grocery store theretil 1984 When Roy Frazier Jr died young he left his widow Jane sole proprietorship & continued running her business' though they no longer live at home! Mrs Jane reopened her store with help from Friends before finally selling it to Wells Fargo Bank who still operate it today! In 1984 she passed away leaving behind an Establishment currently valued at over $1 million! Today Mtpleasant features 4 churches: First Baptist Church (dedicated to God Almighty), Second Baptist Church (dedicated to Jesus Christ), Mount Pleasant Methodist EpiscopalChurch (dedicative to Mary), & Battle Born Christian Chapel(dedicated to Bible reading). There are also several businesses such as Hardees Super Markets (& adjoining restaurant) situated just off main street outside city Limits; H&R Block since 1990 (& adjacent gas station); Wells Fargo Bank since 1994 (& adjacent bank); rodeo arena located east side of town limits accessible only via gravel road accessed from rural roads leading into town limits) Allocates about $150K per year for education spending not counting church/state expenses like trash pickup or lawn care etc...mount pleasant has always been known for its Cotton Gins although some people may think its "the Five Towns because they have all these stores" but really five towns have one store each plus Mount Providence if you count that :)

Mount Pleasant, Texas is a small town located in the panhandle of Texas. The town was founded by James Fenton in 1847 as a result of his efforts to purchase land for the people of the area. The town grew rapidly during the late 1800s and early 1900s due to its location and natural resources. Mount Pleasant played an important role in the history of both Texas and America. The first permanent settler in Mount Pleasant was James Fenton, who purchased 100 acres of land from David Brown in 1847. Fenton named his new settlement after Mount Pleasant, England, where he had been born two years earlier. By 1848, Mountpleasant had grown to over 350 residents including men, women, and children. The settlers were able to find enough food and water supplies to support their growing population but they also faced many challenges such as difficult terrain, malaria-carrying mosquitoes, and Native American hostilities. In 1850, Mountpleasant became part of the newly created county of Arlington Heights which was formed from parts oftx County andindependently rich ranches that stretched from Victoria down Lubbock River valley into what is now McLennan County (New Mexico). This addition to Arlington Heights helped increase economic opportunities for Mount Pleasant citizens while at the same time providing them with some degree of separation from neighboring towns. The growth of Arlington Heights led to increased tensions between local residents and those living within neighboring counties such as McLennan or Longview (now Dallas) because these areas were considered "outer boroughs" within Arlington Heights jurisdiction. One exampleof this conflict came when John Hoggon attemptedto build a mill on Red River which would have impacted neighborsto the south; however, this effort was quashed by Arlington Heights officials because it would have put their own mills at risk had it gone through。 In 1857, when Dallas became a city under charter granted by Congress following its annexation by Houston (then called Galveston), MtPleasant's importance diminished somewhat although it continued to be home to many prominent citizens including Judge Harry Bates Sr., George Aiken Milling Co., J&J McClure & Sons Coal Merchants Store Company Limited Partnership Precinct No 1 Chief Justice Reuben Crouch United States Circuit Court Judge Washington Davenport Postmaster General Wm E Smith Mayor Of Dallas
