Mount Pleasant is a small town in Collin County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,153 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area. The first guns in Mount Pleasant were brought over from Missouri by settlers in 1836. By 1840, there were about 50 gun barrels being manufactured in Mount Pleasant. In 1851, the first blacksmith shop was built in Mountpleasant and soon many other businesses and residences sprang up around it due to its center location for trade and commerce. Gun barrel production continued to grow until 1865 when a fire destroyed most of the town's production facilities. However, this did not stop people from continuing to settle and purchase land around Mount Pleasant; during that time it served as a focal point for cotton farming and ranching activities as well as local shooting sports including rifle range use by farmers and ranchers on high ground near present day Springerville Elementary School. In 1907, Mount Pleasant got its own post office which lasted until 1915 when it merged with neighboring Hutto Post Office (now Hutto Consolidated School District). Mount Pleasant is a small town in the county of Ellis, Texas, United States. The population was 1,527 at the 2010 census. Mount Pleasant is located in the eastern panhandle of Texas and bordered by Clear Creek County to the north, San Jacinto County to the east, Nueces County to the south and west and Colorado County to the northwest. The first Spanish settlers in what is now Mount Pleasant were Juan de la Cueva and his family who arrived on horseback from Vera Cruz on October 20, 1795. They named their new settlement La Fortaleza after General Antonio López de Santa Anna's successful defense of Mexico City against an American invasion in 1808. The first post office was established in 1812 under name New Madrid but it changed its name to Mount Pleasant six times before becoming Mount Pleasant in 1829. In 1830 Johnnie Watkins built a log cabin near present-day Mount Pleasant as a summer home for his son William Watkins. In 1835 Isaac Morse moved from Palestine (later Huntsville) Texas with his family to Mtpleasant and set up shop as a saddlery merchant. Morse became known for producing good quality saddles which he exported around the country. WhenTexas attained statehood in 1850 all land within Mexican territory became part of Texas even though there were still some Native Americans living among them including those living near Mtpleasant where Isaac Morse had founded his business.) By 1860 Mtpleasant had become one of four towns created by Commissioner James Bowie following annexation of nearby Potter Valley by Texans during that year’s statewide revolt against Mexico’s rule over East Texas Rancho El Paso (now Parkland County). Bowie named each town after important figures or geographical features associated with its location: Ft Worth ( downtown), Austin (the capital city), San Antonio (near today's downtown), & Mexicali (on Bexar River). At this time most citizens lived around Ft Worth & Austin while many others scattered throughout various ranchos acrossEast Texan area until finally all 4 towns formed one municipality called Arlington on November 14, 1861 when Dallas was added as a result ofillo effort led by Gov Edward Burnet aka “Eddie” Lee! With Arlington Municipality (& VoteBatty) everything started changein'... introverted young people like myself decided we needed our own place too!!!

Mount Pleasant, Texas is a small town located in Hudspeth County, Texas. The population of Mount Pleasant was 173 as of the 2010 census. The first people to live in what is now Mount Pleasant were the Garza family. In 1881, John and Anna Garza founded a post office at Mount Pleasant and named their son George after General George Washington. In 1903, they built a sawmill on the creek that flows through the town. The mill was destroyed by fire in 1916 but was rebuilt and continued operation until it closed in 1967. The mountain near which Mount Pleasant stands has been called "the headwaters of the Brazos River" for many years because of its high water level at certain times during the year. When people started coming to live here from east Texas, they would bring their cows and pigs up to drink from the river at this peak; later when there were more road crossings, people would bring hardware store items up to sell on Main Street (now East Main Street). One day when I was living here in 1990, I went out into town for groceries and found an old Ford Fairlane parked on our street - it had been hidden under a pile of leaves when I left for work that morning! In 1905-06, two schools were built in Mount Pleasant: one for white children and one for black children. It wasn't until 1957 that white students could attend school together with black students inside separate classrooms outside of school hours. By 1910, there were three churches serving Mtpleasant: Baptist (founded 1892), Methodist (founded 1914), and Presbyterian (founded 1912). By 1930 there were only two churches remaining: Baptist and Methodist both affiliated with the Houston Independent School Districts system. In 1957-58 alone, Mtpleasant became home to five businesses: four stores operated by local businessmen including Boggs Hardware Store & Loan Association (owned by future Gov. Ann Richards) which opened in 1957; Wernham's Drugs also opened about this time; Joe's Garage across from Wernham's; Mrs."Tootsie" Daugherty's grocery store which opened about this time along with her new restaurant "Mount Pleasant Cafe"; finally Henderson Elementary School reopened about this time after being closed for many years due to budget cuts within HISD system following desegregation efforts throughout southern TX during LBJ presidency

Mount Pleasant, Texas is located in the Panhandle of Texas and was founded in 1836 by settlers from Kentucky. The town was named for John Quincy Adams, who served as U.S. President from 1848 to1853.
