This move signaled an end to proprietorship by individual farmers within each township or village anymore but instead KSAT became a general television licensee and soon started producing its own programming including soap operas, news shows and variety programs such as "The Price Is Right". In 1998,KSAT sold its license to TX Broadcasting Company who later formed UTX Broadcasting Corporation with assets from their former licensee KSAT. UTX began operations as KVUE-TV with studios on Commerce Street in downtownAustin before moving into facilities on East Riverside Drive in 2003 where they still operate today as an ABC affiliate.
