Mission, Texas is a small town located in the state of Texas. It was founded in 1836 by Ignacio de la Llave and María Antonia Valladolid as part of the Santa Anna Expedition. The history of Mission begins with Ignacio de la Llave, who was a conquistador from Mexico City. In 1836, he and his party set out on a journey to find new land in what is now Texas. After traversing many miles of territory, they arrived at what is now Mission San Antonio de Padua. La Llave named his settlement after his patron saint, Saint Anthony of Padua. The first residents of Mission were Spanish friars who had been sent to California by Emperor Ferdinand VII in 1827. When Mexican president Vicente Guerrero announced plans to build an empire in Central America, he ordered the construction of several large missions throughout Alta California. Many priests and monks decided to leave their homes in Spain for warmer climates and sailed southward to join the emperor's forces at Texcoco. When they reached California, they found that most of their fellow Friars had already gone into exile or died fighting against US troops during General Valverde's invasion of Mexico City in 1846-47. Only a few hundred Spaniards remained behind when war broke out between US forces and Mexican dictator Agustín Cobo on October 16, 1850; however, about 2,500 menaced Cobo's capital city from various angles daily until September 25th when Captain Charles Goodyear destroyed all bridges over San Antonio Creek so that no one could escape (Goodyear referred to this action as "the great raid"). This ended any hope that Mexican citizens might flee across our southern border into our republic before another Ulysses S Grant campaign resulted in an open peace treaty days later which finally brought peace to our region on November 6th1851 A group led by Father Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla marched through Nuevo Laredo towards Zacatecas but were met with gunfire at El Paso on November 12th1851 capitulated without battle after becoming refugees inside Mexico City due to weather conditions outside (Hidalgo y Costilla ultimately became presidente de México). Mission history can be traced back further still with Diego Rivera’s mural project which began itsinatory 8 years ago this month!

Mission is a small town in Hudspeth County, Texas. It was founded in 1836 by the California gold rush settlers as an agricultural community on the banks of the Trinity River. By 1865, Mission had become a busy commercial center with its own railroad and water system. Mission is located about 20 miles southwest of Austin along I-35W. According to the 2010 census, Mission has a population of 3,859 people. It lies just north of Interstate 10 (I-10W) on state Highway 183 (SH 183). SH 183 forms part of TX 288 (the Loop 1 Expressway), which circles around Austin and serves as both a bypass route between TXPALM International Airport and downtown Austin and an access road for suburban development east of Research Triangle Park. The original inhabitants of what is now Mission were Californian gold seekers who overlanded from San Francisco during the 1848 Gold Rush. They arrived by wagon train on October 12, 1848, following an arduous trip from Sacramento via El Paso County and west through Hudspeth County into central Texas before reachingCorpus Christi Bayou on November 6th. In December 1849 they erected their first log cabin near present day intersection of FM 1492/US 290/HS 8062 (now called Lone Star Boulevard) and Creek Road NW where they named their village San Felipe de Obregon or "The Mexican Missions." The first post office opened in January 1850 under this name but changed its name to Mission soon after because there was no evidence that anyone other than Mexicans lived thereabouts at that time. A second group of Californians arrived later that year under the leadership of Joaquin Cisneros who also built what is now known as Presidio Hill outside modern-day Corpus Christi; they named their new settlement La Bahía del Espíritu Santo or "The Holy Bayou." A third group arrived in March 1850 led by José Nunez who named his new settlement Nuestra Señora de la Concepción or "Our Lady Of Our Savior." The fourth group finally reached Mission on May 7th from Brownsville via San Antonio Pass over Comal Pass northeastward into Llano Country; they called their new settlement Concepción because it was located near one end OF Hidalgo county while Alamo Hills lay across much OF Guadalupe country beyond it into Coahuila Territory which Mexico still controlled at this time including parts of Tejas Indian Nation today An additional 50+ American colonists landed at Point Isabel beach opposite Gonzales Lake approximately six miles southeast of present day Don Pedro Island late summer 1861 seeking mineral rights associated with claims extending offshore onto Texan Foothills National Monument land then being surveyed by Major Elisha Hunt - brother-in-law to Ulysses S Grant - upon acquisition thereof by the United States government during Civil War due to changes in boundary lines resulting from Annexationist efforts led by Sam Houston subsequent thereto In early 1863 Captain James Waddell discovered coal seams within 4 miles northwest adjacent to present day Main Street cornering US 90 & Loop 1604 & appraising them at $4 per ton he sent two men prospecting back East learning quickly that these seams were only 5 feet deep yielding only 2 cents per tonne compared to more than 80¢/tonne found closer upstream workings elsewhere within Mexican territory . Accordingly Waddell organized Company G composed mainly Americans & Isrealians working 100 acres leased from Mexican authorities @ $1/acre + $0 down @ signing month’s rent payable @ current market value producing 350 tons [email protected] worth $1400 per tonne cash flow producing averaging 15¢/tonne = gross ($2000 /year) notwithstanding some setbacks caused primarily by inadequate drainage systems!
