In 1916-1917, Davidson Bros., Jesse Ivey & Sons, John Andrews & Son made Shooting Target Holders for Mrs Lillie Bigham at her home on Polk Street. After Mrs Bigham retired from running this business in 1917-1920 she passed down the recipe for this type of holder to her son John Andrews who ran the business until it closed in 1948.

Mission, Texas is located in the U.S. state of Texas and has a population of approximately 30,000 people. The town was founded by Father José Antonio de la Llave in 1836 as the mission town of San Francisco de Borja. In 1846, the Mexican government moved the mission to Mission Bend after many years of debate over its location. The site is now occupied by McAllen-Edinburg International Airport.mission began with Father José Antonio’s dream to build a religious school for his indigenous people in what is now central Bexar County on an area now known as El Camino Real Street and Fifth Avenue (later Barrancas Street). On October 5, 1836, at age twenty-six years old, Father José Antonio erected a small chapel on this site called “ La Candelaria” (). This chapel served as both the parish church and primary school for the Mission until it closed in 1861 due to financial problems. In 1848–49 Father José Antonio built another small chapel on land that he donated east of present day Interstate 35 near his home on Purok Road (now South Padre Island Boulevard). A new convent was also built here which served as the religious center for all Native Americans living within mission boundaries until it burned down in 1889. The first missionaries arrived at Mission San Francisco de Borja on November 15,1829 (), after journeying from New Spain via Acapulco under Juana Díaz and Manuel Fernandez y Costilla (). They were led by Eusebio Fernández y Valdés (), who became pastor ()of the new Missions along with Fray Isidro Garza () and Fray Alvaro del Valle (). After suffering great losses during an Indian war fought between Mexico and Texan bands in 1835, padres Fernando Cabrera y Ruiz (+19)and Pedro Ortiz (+22)decided that Mission San Francisco should be fortified to prevent further attacks from hostile Indians ().On Valentine's Day 1840(), they laid bricks throughout the walls of their new fortifications (); later renamed Fortín de Padres Miguel Alejandro Lara y Costilla (). The fortification was completed on February 6th 1840() after five months of construction by soldiers under command of Captain Manuel Sánchez Moreno (). When Mexican General Agustín De Las Casas discovered powder magazine hidden inside Fortress Lara he ordered its destruction but painter Juan Seguerra decided to keep it while creating murals depicting various aspects of Mexican history inside fortress Lara (see below ). In 1850–51 missions operations were relocated from their original sites near Purok Road () to more centralized locations including: El Paso (), Lubbock (), carbondale (), Brenham ())and finally Abilene(). With these changes came increased priestly expenses ($2 per day), reduced missionary numbers (-68), declining enrollment (−27%) and social tensions caused by proximity to Mexican towns such as Reynosa and Zacatecas City (). In 1862 Revolucion Mexicana forced Mexico out of Texas; however missions continued operations even though priests had no legal right to preach or administer sacraments outside their newly createdmissions territory A fire destroyed most buildings at Mission San Jose el Viejo on November 8th 1961 () just one year after its completion In 1969 construction began on Terminal Tower which would eventually serve as both Church & Business Center for Missions Western US Mission started out life like so many others: with a dream . Fathers José António e Silva e Sampaio brought Christianity back into our ancient Olmeca village . From there we spread word about this wonderful religion through songs sung among us .. [but] soon enough we ran out Of money And space too! So we went looking For new homes To call Our own! We found this beautiful piece Of Land Called Texas ! Now It rightfully belongs To Us !!Mission grew rapidly when God blessed our efforts And gave us everything needed To succeed! From farming To Trade ! Mission, Texas is located in the U.S. state of Texas and part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1836 by Franciscan friars as a mission under the jurisdiction of the Austin Presbytery. The townsite was named for Father Antonio de la Garza, who served as its first pastor. In 1855, San Antonio became the new ecclesiastical center for Mission; it remained so until Avila's founding in 1912. Missions continued to be administered from San Antonio until they were transferred to Fort Worth in 1887; Mission then continued to be administered from Fort Worth until it was transferred to Arlington Heights in 1961.
