Mexicans began arriving again following their defeat at Palo Alto Hill on November 3rd and soon after general Santa Anna had returned from his exile in Mexico City and resumed power in 1867 authorized another land grab; this time Rancho Rinconada was granted to Juan González for 800 acres (0-1 km²).
