Mission, Texas is a city in the Mexican state of Baja California. It was founded by American missionaries in 1846 as part of the Rancho San Antonio de Alvarado mission chain, and became a U.S. town after it was annexed by Dallas in 1907.

Mission, Texas is a small community in Hudspeth County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,868 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land metropolitan area. The history of Mission dates back to 1836 when it was founded by Father José Álvarez and Brother Pedro Ruiz as a mission in what is now Humble County. In 1838, Antonio López de Legazpi arrived in Mexico and claimed Mission San Francisco as his own colony. With the acquisition of this land by the United States in 1845, Mission became part of Hudspeth County. In 1849 Mexican General Agustín Carrillo attacked Humble County's militia led by Captain John Crain with over 100 men and two cannons at the Battle of Guadalupe Hill. This battle served as an important turning point for American settlers in what is now Hudspeth County because they had finally won their war against Mexico. For over three years following this battle Mexican troops patrolled the area but no further attacks were made against English-speaking colonists living within Hudspeth County limits. In 1861 Congress passed an act that designated Humble Valley as a rest stop on stagecoach routes between Houston and Galveston Bayou for Native Americans traveling north to sell goods from south Texas sites such as Navigation Point (now parts of Clear Lake) and Goliad Island which lay near present day Mission Viejo Boulevard and White Sands Road east of FM 527 (now US 281). These wagon trains stopped at various locations along Navigation Point until 1865 when all stops were discontinued due to hostilities between Texans and Mexican forces around Austin resulting in more than fifty dead Texan soldiers along with many civilian casualties including women, children, old men, etc., known today as The Alamo Raids. After Union victory at Gettysburg General Taylor ordered his army into northwest Texas where he discovered oilfields rich in natural gas that could be developed commercially without prior exploration or approval from Washington D.C.. A new town was planned called Fort Worth on Red River then named “Anahuac” after President James Kenedy’s successful effort to purchase Anahuac lands from Spain during the Mayflower Compact (1540). However Fort Worth never materialized due to local obstructionism caused by veteran generals Sam Houston and Braxton Bragg who refused to give up their command posts on Travis Creek outside Fort Worth while active military operations were taking place nearby; these operations eventually resulted in total Confederate victory over Union forces under General Robert E Lee at Appomattox Court House December 9th 1865 throughout much of northeastern TX leading up to Christmas 1865 when Confederate general Ulysses S Grant surrendered all remaining Confederate troops west of Dallas/Fort Worth about 35 miles northeast of current day Mission TX under terms provided for under the Treaty Of Paris which ended The Civil War

Mission, Texas was founded by the Mexican expedition in 1836. It became a United States territory following the Mexican-American War. The church still remains in operation to this day as Mission Santa Ana de los Angeles. The early missionaries were Frenchmen and Spanish priests who arrived in 1836. They established what is now San Antonio as their headquarters and began preaching Christianity to Native Americans and Mexicans. On January 17, 1837, they erected a cross on an isolated hillock near what is now downtown San Antonio. In November of that year, they built a new mission, Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes (Our Lady of Mercy), which served as their headquarters for many years. In 1840, Mexico ceded Texas to the United States effective February 27th due to its participation in the Mexican-American War contributed by both sides. The US government then decided to establish a military post at San Fernando Valley near present day Mission Hills in order to surveil Mexico City from its rear flank should hostilities resume between America and Mexico over this issue or any other potential conflict on our borderlands during those difficult times leading up to our country’s admission into the Union as an Independent nation on July 14th, 1848 It wasn’t until March 11th of 1846 that General Josiah Bogan arrived at San Fernando Valley with his command unit including “the Forty Thieves” under saddle just prior to inspections required before all troops might disembarkation be allowed at Corpus Christi Bayou for embarkation on USS “President James K Polk” en route from Galveston Island across Houston Channel into California Mission Santa Ana had been founded by Father José María Arcángel y Valdés on December 13th , 1795 some time after he left Spain accompanied by Father Francisco Xavier García de Quesada with 10 friars accompanying him including 8 children under 6 years old . After traveling through New Mexico along side Pueblo Revolución against Spanish colonial rule he finally reached Nacoochee River about 20 miles east of modern day Austin on October 24 th 1830 where he camped for 3 days before setting out again northeastward passing through today's Comalco Creek valley crossing today's Spring Branch Pass east of Horseshoe Bend then upstream past Dripping Springs Crossing continuing northwestward reaching his original destination 2 days ago .. deep in Indian Country .. north of Wichita Mountains

Mission, Texas was founded in 1836 as the first Mormon settlement in what is now the Lone Star state. The Mormons were seeking to establish a new Zion, or Promised Land, in America and their move to Mission was inspired by President Brigham Young's sermon of December 12, 1830. The original site of present-day Mission was near present day San Antonio. The town ofMission grew up around the mission and other scattered farms which lay within its boundaries. In 1851, Mission was annexed by the city of San Antonio. Since then, various businesses have been located in and around Mission including restaurants such as Applebee's and Taco Bell; a bank; two shopping malls; two hospitals; three churches (including one Roman Catholic); a jail; and another school district headquarters.
