In 1923, an Air Pistol Club was formed in Mission and soon after began shooting pistols out of buildings using carbon dioxide cartridges instead of lead pellets. In 1928, an Air Gun Club was started by members of the American Legion at 505 Neches Road and it quickly became one of the most popular clubs in town. The first regulation governing airguns was passed in 1934 and it banned any type of shot other than lead bullets that had a weight no more than 0.2 grams per shot (50 grains). This regulation still applies today! In the 1940s and 1950s, people started using portable electric guns to shoot pigeons from rooftops or inside building windows (see photo below). These guns use short-barreled rotary shotguns that fire pellets that travel about 25 feet before eventually hitting the ground or another target. Because these guns use electricity instead of gas or pellets, they’re not considered traditional airguns since they don’t produce any noise whatsoever! However, because these weapons are so easy to operate and can be fired from anywhere within range, they remain a favorite target for children and adults alike! In 1951, local gunsmiths created a new type of airgun called the .177 caliber pistol automatic rifle (PAAR). This weapon fires live rounds that travel about 50 feet before lodging into whatever is targeted; this includes human targets as well as animals such as deer or rabbits! These pistols were very successful and quickly became known throughout Mission as “the Guns That Killed Kennedys” due to their similarity in design to John Fitzgerald Kennedy’s assassinated President! Today, even though all types of firearms are allowed on public property within limitsmitigation permitting laws still apply; however, many residents prefer antique-style handguns like those used by triggermen on old Western movies!

The mission complex was completed in 1858 and named after St. Anthony of Padua by Father José Román Soto. The current building which houses the Mayor's Office and City Council Chambers were dedicated in 1988 to Francisco Valdez who served as mayor from 1960-1988.

Mission, Texas is a small town located in Hudspeth County, Texas, about 30 miles northwest of Austin. The name comes from Father Junipero Serra’s 1797 sermon “The Mission of San José de las Cruzitas.” The mission was founded by the Friars Minor of Jesus Christ of the Alamo in 1821 as an agricultural center to provide food for the growing population of Austin and nearby Hudspeth County. In 1835, Mexico ceded Texan territory including Hudspeth and Travis Counties to the United States after a series of American-Mexican wars. As part of that land deal, Mission was designated as the seat of government for Travis County. The first post office was established at Mission on April 12,1836. In 1846, Mexican General Antonio López de Santa Anna ordered all Americans living in Mexican territory to leave or be killed. A group led by Captain John B 26th US Infantry Regiment under Major James Bowie decided to stay and fight for their countrymen. On November 16, 1846 they were successful in repelling an enemy attack on Mission Hill (now known as TowerHill). That event helped start what would become known as the Texas Revolution Against Mexico. After successfully concluding his campaign against Mexico City he moved north into Texas where he met with Santa Anna and surrendered on December 15th near San Antonio.mission continued functioning until March 1st 1870 when it closed due to lack of funds
