In 1886, the club purchased a rifle range from George Millington and began inviting other citizens to shoot at it. In 1895, the club upgraded their rifle range to include a pistol range which they continued to use until 1907 when they moved to new quarters on Baylor Street in Mineral Wells. The Pistol Range remained in use until 1920 when it became available for rent to the local high school students who used it as a rifle range during school days only. In 1936, the Mineral Wells Gunsight and Rifle Club leased land from United States Customs Service for storage purposes near downtown Mineral Wells while they renovated their building which housed their clubhouse since 1909. When that building burned down in 1951, they again leased land from US Customs Service which served as their current shooting ground today!
Mineral Wells, Texas is located in Hudspeth County, Texas. The population was 5,814 at the 2010 census. It is the second-most populous county in Texas and the most populous of Hudspeth County's thirteen counties. The county seat and largest city are Midland. Other major towns include Review, Alpine, Rocksville, and Fredericksburg. The county was formed on February 3, 1857 from parts of Bastrop and Gillespie Counties. Mineral Wells became a town on December 15 of that year. On January 1, 1859 it became a City After being passed through an act of Congress on November 20th of that year by act entitled "An Act to create a new county in this State for the purpose of improving its roads" (Hudspeth County Courthouse). Mineral Wells has been served as the county seat since 1912. The climate here is warm all year round with moderate rainfall throughout most months - but there can be some effects from extremes such as thunderstorms during summertime or severe cold snaps during wintertime which cause power outages or water shortages

Today, Miner Wells remains an important cultural attraction for locals and visitors alike – hosting numerous events each year that draw in dozens of spectators or participants from all over Central Texas.
The first known discovery of oil in Mineral Wells, Texas was made by a group of men led by J.B. Holmes during the 1870s. The location was on land that is now part of Houston. In 1876, an oil well was drilled and discovered at the site, which became known as the Oil Well Field. The production of oil from this well began in 1877 and continued until 1903. The well yielded an estimated 8 million barrels of crude oil each day at its peak production.
