They continued to produce binoculars until the early 1920’s when they stopped making them altogether because of advances in technology. However, some of these earlier models can still be found today being traded online or sold at antique stores.

The history of Mineral Wells begins with the founding of the town in 1881. The town was named for millionaire, General John S. Fort Worth, who donated land to the town. The first settler in Mineral Wells was Dr. George Fenton, who arrived in 1876. In 1883, soon after Texas became a state, Mineral Wells had its first election and new Mayor James P. Tatum was elected. The following year, the city's boundaries were expanded to include present-day Arlington Heights and Mission Hills neighborhoods on the east side of Railroad Avenue. In 1907, Mineral Wells experienced its most significant event when it became one of seventeen towns annexed by Dallas into the city limits. At that time, Dallas had only a population of around 20,000 people and Minerwell had a population of over 120 residents. Over time, Mineral Wells grew larger and more popular within Dallas as well as among its own citizens until it attained its current size within city limits in 1959 when it annexed Arlington Heights and Mission Hills again into its boundaries
On July 3, 1859, the Texas Legislature passed a bill creating Mineral Wells County. The county was named after mineral wells discovered in the area. The first settler in the county was John White.
