The Midland Gun Shop has been selling firearms since 1868. The shop is known for its high-quality guns, ammo, and accessories. It is also one of the few locations in the area that sells shotguns. Wickersham sold pistols and shotgun shells from his home. He also bought rifles from local farmers and dealers. In 1872, Wickersham opened a second gun store called the Western Armory on Main Street. This store became known for selling new military firearms and ammunition. In 1903, John Sargent opened his own gun store on Second Street in Midland. Sargent sold handguns as well as rifles and shotguns from his business premises. He also imported American Made guns into Midland from Illinois and other states. Between 1912 and 1916, Sargent built a building on the north side of Main Street that served as the Middleton Gun Store until it was destroyed by fire in 1968. In 1922, Albert Jaffe founded Jaffe’s Sporting Goods on Third Street in Midland with himself as the only owner/operator at that time. Jaffe’s Sporting Goods became well-known for its high-quality firearms including handguns, rifles, shotguns, ammo, tools/equipment needed to shoot Firearms (such as trigger locks), knives etc., among others items related to hunting/fishing or just being an all around shooting enthusiast supplies store! In 1967 when Jaffe passed away ownership went through his son Michael who ran it until 1986 when it closed again due to lack of customers

Midland, Texas is a town in Midland County, Texas, United States. The population was 7,811 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Midland County and the largest town within Midland County by population. The name "Midland" comes from nearby Midleton, England. The first residents of what is now Midland were Scottish settlers who arrived in 1836 as part of the great cattle drive called the McLennan Trail. They named their new community after David McLennan, one of the leaders of this drive. In 1839, another group of Scotsmen established a campgrounds on what are now State Highway 66 and FM 527 just north of downtown Midland. From these beginnings until about 1870 or so, most activities in and around present-day Midlanders took place at these campsites or on other adjacent properties near downtown. In 1870–71 an organization called the Second Presbyterian Church was organized in Dallas and moved to its current location on Elm Street northeast of downtown in what is now Midlander. This church became known as First Presbyterian Church (later renamed First Baptist) because it served both Methodist and Presbyterian congregations simultaneously before eventually being disbanded in 1907. In 1881 Henry Cisneros founded Southeastern Oklahoma Land Company which purchased 1 million acres (4 km²) along the Santa Fe Trail from New Mexico to Kansas City. This land formed much of present-day Wichita Falls and also included parts of Haskell and Jacksboro counties west of Dallas/Fort Worth Airport outside city limits then including much today's Arlington Heights neighborhood inside city limits east of I-10 near Loop 610 (now University Drive). At this time there were few towns east or west sideoftheDallasplex with only Wichita Falls existing as anvil for slave labor during that period while Dallas was becoming an American Metropolis with railroads reaching all corners
