Marshall, Texas is home to the largest gun mag in the Southwest. The Gun Mag Museum has been in business since 1978 and features over thirty-five thousand firearms from all over the world. The Gun Mag Museum was founded by Bill Gentry and his wife Donna. They were both active members of the NRA and decided to start a museum in memory of their loved ones who had died as result of gunfire. Originally, the museum only featured handguns, but over time they have diversified their collection to include rifles, shotguns, and even explosives! Today, there are two floors dedicated to firearms with an open floor plan so that visitors can see everything from assault rifles to revolvers. There is also a large video room where you can watch movies about guns or listen to audio stories about old pistols. Marshall, Texas is a small town in southern Lampasas County, Texas, United States. The population was 612 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Amarillo–New Braunfels metropolitan area. The name "Marshall" comes from Jean Baptiste Marshall who settled in that location in 1877. He named his ranch after General James K. Polk and other U.S. leaders who had been killed during the Mexican-American War. The town was first organized on Valentine's Day, 1889 by Willis Gentry and others as Garden City Park due to its distances from other settlements and lack of water resources. In 1896, a post office was established there with Jno Waddell as the first Postmaster and it remained in operation until1959 when it was discontinued due to racial segregation in Texas towns by then- governor Allan Shaver Jr.. In 1923, Marshal acquired land east of I-10 which became known as West Marshalls Ranch (now parts of Springdale and Palestine). A cotton gin and mill were built here in 1924; this became one of the most important industries in Marshall until 1938 when statehood made them an independent city under the name Amarillo. The cotton gin still stands today, serving as a museum open to the public every day from 9am to 4pm CST from April through September (closed October 1st). The population has grown rapidly over time with intergenerational603migration to surrounding cities such as Amarillo and New Braunfels since World War II; however prospered despite Dust Bowl conditions during those years because many residents worked on nearby farms or construction jobs for what was then called “the new oil fields” located along Interstate 10 outside Amarillo but now lies within Lampasas County limits adjacent to Denver Mesa State Park just east of Lamar University campus driving distance northwest of downtown Wichita Falls once you get out of I-10 exit 191A/I-40 E)

The town was named for General James B. Marshall who fought in the Mexican–American War and later served as a U.S. Senator from Texas from 1873 to 1879 and again from 1893 to 1907. The first post office opened in Marshall on November 16, 1871. In 1909, Marshall became one of few towns in Texas that chose to secede from the United States and form its own country called Mexico (though it remains a U.S.–Mexico border community). From 1915 until 1938, Marshal also enjoyed self-government under the name of "Republic ofMarshall". On December 15th of that year however, Mexico ceded portions of its southern border including Marshall to the United States due to World War II refugees being brought into America via Mexico City airport; this event marksthe end of Mexican sovereignty over Marshall In 1949 after many years trying by both federal and state governments it was decided that only annexation by another state could fix current problems with water availability and school construction so eventually on July 1st 1959 Marshal annexed Comanche County creating what would be known as Comanche County Annexation Plans No 1 through No 5 have been issued subsequent thereto making sure all citizens were aware thereof prior to any such actions being taken
Marshall was founded in 1867 by Colonel James Marshall and his wife, Sarah. The town was named after General George Buford, who had conquered Texas in the Mexican-American War. After a brief period of growth, Marshall died in 1865 and the town declined until it reached its current size in the early 21st century. The city is home to many businesses and cultural attractions, including the University of Texas at Austin and the Texas State Capitol Complex.
