Marshall, Texas is a town located in Austin County, Texas, United States. The population was 97 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The first permanent white settler in Marshall was Cyrus Day in 1836. His grandson, John Day Sr., founded the town on a Rancho San Marcos property that he purchased from Tejanos in 1847. On March 4th 1984 residents voted 54% no on annexing their entire community to RoundRock despite pleas from Mayor Wade Hampton Jr..
