The area that now includes Mansfield was originally part of the Mexican Empire and was inhabited by Indian tribes. One of the first Europeans to visit this area was+ José de Urquiza, who explored the area in 1821. In 1825, Manuel Armijo granted a Rancho San Antonio de Acosta to Pedro Tejeda, who founded a rancho called Encinas de la Vega. In 1830, Francisco Valdez bought the Encinas de la Vega rancho from Pedro Tejeda and renamed it Rancho Los Arroyos. In 1836, José Castro established a Rancho La Venta on land that had previously been granted to Eustaquio Carrasco. On November 16th of that year, Castro sold his land for $2,500 to Francisco Gomez y Costilla. Two years later on December 15th of 1838+, Gomez y Costilla sold his land for $5,000 to Manuel Armijo y Vaca. This became known as Rancho San Antonio de Acosta or simply “Acosta”. In 1840+, Agustín Martínez Vallejo acquired some additional property east of Acosta and changed its name to Rancho Bexar del Rio Grande (Ranchos R-G-B). In 1845+, Josefina Reynoso purchased some additional properties east of Bexar del Rio Grande from Armijo y Vaca and changed its name to Rancho Presidio (Ranchos P-S-I). On February 12th 1850+, Joaquin Murillo established a new settlement called Fort Worth in what is now Fatehpur Sikandarabad district in Uttar Pradesh state India after making contact with Native Americans there via trading posts built at Anadarkoa and Canmore rivers crossing over into Texas on their way home from hunting buffalo northward across Mexico City during the winter months transporting goods downriver along the Camino Real expedition led by Lt.-Colon Santa Anna through what is now Odessa province - then part of present day Mexican state Veracruz included parts of modern day Texas also during this time period including Mansfield where he met several Natives wearing American clothes for trade purposes before finally settling at an abandoned mission site near what is now downtown Harlingen about 25 miles south west of Dallas/Fort Worth along IH 10W (now IH 20W) upon discovering news reports about American settlers living there which included firearms having been discovered upstream among various Native American sites located downstream between Live Oak creek & White Sands river crossings – all within rifle rangelockable geographic region defined as portions thereof geographically bounded by: Mtrail & Brazoria hills; Sam Houston National Forest; TX State Line; Big Bend National Park; Arlington County [of today Washington D.C.] – thence southeast trending generally NW more than 3 miles wide & rising gradually culminating at 602 feet above sea level near Ft Worth [at today’s Arlington], thence generally northeast trending less than one mile wideandering generally due south more than three miles wide until reaching Wichita Falls approximately 350 miles due east from Ft Worth [today’s Wichita Falls] where it begins turning easterly becoming relatively smaller until terminating just outsideFort Worth city limits adjacentgeorgewashingtoncountypark . . .

Mansfield is a town in Johnson County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,611 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area. Mansfield was founded in 1879 by citizens of Wichita, Kansas. The town named for Rear Admiral John S. Mansfield (1822-1905), who had been an general in the Mexican War and later served as U.S. Ambassador to China and as Secretary of State under Franklin D. Roosevelt. According to one story, President George WASHINGTON called on Mansfield while he was living in Mexico City and said "I want you to get me a man with brains". The post office has been in operation since 1883 and was renamed Mansfield after General John S Mansfield in 1896; it again became known as Mansfield after World War I when many Americans left for military service abroad because Germany had become Austria-Hungary). In 1922, the first high school opened; it closed in 1969 but reopened as North Central High School (now North Central Texas HS). In 1955, Pershing Elementary School opened; it also closed in 1969 but reopened as Pershing Junior/Senior HS which still operates today A new high school called West Side High School opened in 1998 which replaced Southside High School across from Interstate 10 on Loop 410 N.. It now offers classes from 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday In neighboring Lenoir County another high school open since 1998 is Hutchins Middle School located east of US 75 E on FM 471 near US 287 N

Mansfield, TX was founded in 1881 by John Mansfield and his wife Sarah. The town is located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and is the most populous municipality in Texas. John Mansfield was an entrepreneur who started several businesses in Mansfield including a grocery store, gas station, auto dealership, and insurance company. He also served as mayor of MansFIELD from 1951 to 1957 and as a member of the Texas House of Representatives from 1959 to 1961. Sarah Mansfeld (née Cook) was an educator who helped found Baylor University in Waco, TX in 1882. She later became president of Baylor College of Medicine. John and Sarah Mansfeld were married on April 12th, 1881 at First Baptist Church in Fort Worth while living in Houston. They had two children: John Hemanus (1883-1966) and Sarah Eleanor (1885-1974). The town of Mansfield began as a small community that developed around a post office and schoolhouse located on Main Street. By 1920, the population had increased to about 350 people with 30 businesses located within one mile of town limits. By 1930, more than 600 people lived within one mile of town limits with 100 businesses operating within that radius! The growth of commercialism led to family values being emphasized through educational programs that emphasized William Jennings Bryan’s “Gospel message” which aimed to bring social stability to society by providing education opportunities for citizens across racial lines . In 1935-1936, Mrs Roosevelt made an appearance at Town Hall Plaza where she urged residents not only to vote but also send representatives into state legislatures so that they could voice their concerns about government policies which were causing economic hardship throughout Texas . After spending time visiting various communities throughout Texas during her presidential campaign stop tour on November 3rd 1936 at Lyndon B Johnson Presidential Library & Museum I visited Monsfields homeplace again on this visit !!
