Mansfield is a small town in Hudspeth County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,813 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Beaumont-Port Arthur Metropolitan Statistical Area. Mansfield is located on FM 527 and TX 77 between Beaumont and Port Arthur. Mansfield was founded in 1881 by Texans J.B. Hamlin and Wm.H. Smith as a small agricultural community east of Galveston on the Brazos River opposite present day Springdale. Smith ran an inn there which became known as the "Old Fort". In 1885, two years after Mansfield's incorporation as a town, it changed its name to Mansfield because of William Hanks Mansfield (1820-1886), an early settler who had helped organize Hudspeth County constabulary under General Sam Houston during the Texas Revolution. In 1902, when Hudspeth County was divided into two parts, Mansfield became one part of that new county while Springdale remained in the older Hudspeth County; however, both towns continued to use their original names until 1959 when they were combined into one Municipality under currenttxous law designation of "Beaumont-Port Arthur". Today's 2,813 residents are spread along three Main Streets: Elm Street (northwest corner), Memorial Drive (southwest corner), and Trinity Avenue (east side). In 1934 large tracts of land were donated by Judge Roy Bean to become what is now downtown Mansfield; this included much of what is now Old Town Square Park where Lansdowne National Cemetery stands today; also included were several blocks north of First Baptist Church across from banks on Third Street between Elm and Trinity streets - these are now occupied by various businesses including Stonestreet Pharmacy and Old Townsquare Cinemas & Music Hall which opened in 2009 adjacent to Frontier Airlines hangar/terminal complex with retail space available for future development including office/retail complex on upper lot adjoining airport property within Airport Services District boundaries . east side main street contains historical mansFIELD post office building which still serves customers even though USPS moved out in 2007 . The Three Rivers Museum provides daily exhibits about local history open to all visitors free OFSTED approved programming every day except Mondays closed at 4pm

Mansfield, Texas is a small town in Bastrop County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,865 at the 2010 census. The community was founded in 1876 by Elisha Mansfield and named for his father-in-law, General James H. Mansfield. It is located on the banks of the Red River near its confluence with the Trinity River. Mansfield is first mentioned in 1685 as "Mansfelde," which may be derived from the German "Mannsfeld" meaning "man's field." In 1836, General John Fenton established Fort Bend County seat of Brazoria County and renamed it Mansfield after himself and moved his headquarters here from Fort Bend County's capital city, Prairie View A&M (then called Ft Worth). In 1871, when East Texas became a U.S. state, Mansfield became part of Bastrop County and was renamed to honor General James H. Mansfield (1806-1872), who had served as president of the Republic of Texas (1859-1865). On July 14th 1870 Congress passed an act providing for organizing new counties in East Texas; this act included Brazoria and San Augustine Counties within East Texas; these two counties were organized on December 15th 1870 under the name Brazoria District Court System according to Act No., 28 Stat., 517 et seq.. The post office at Mansfield was established on November 15th 1850 by Elijah Bledsoe with mail delivered to Austinport until 1865 when rail service arrived; it reopened on October 20th 1865 under Postmaster General Edwin Mudd with mail also arriving at Austinport until 1971 when it closed due to lack of customers. A Methodist church was built in 1895 by Revs Pee Wee Hewitt and Wm Sargenton Jr.; it burned down in 1907 but was rebuilt at a cost of $22500 and now stands adjacent to the old court house across from Lamar University campus Dealey Plaza . The first school opened here in 1902 which operated until 1915 when annexation into Dallas resulted so that MansFIELD High School replaced it; enrollment reached 1000 students by 1916! In 1915 local business man Clyde Kapp donated land north of town for use as a shopping center including an indoor market/rafting dock plus four blocks west along US Highway 287 Industrial Boulevard known today as Cedar Park Mall leading back east past IH35 onto Dell Road North before turning southeast onto SH 249 just east of IH 10 then continuing northeast past FM 620 Hood Townsite into Bastrop county where most residents still reside although some have relocated elsewhere since then . This area now includes parts of downtown Dallas including much older mansfields such as Springtown Village Shopping Center dating back to 1911
Mansfield was originally called "Waco" and was founded by George Mansfield in 1836. In 1876, the town of Mansfield was renamed to Dallas after Vice President James K. Polk who had been born in Mansfield. The city of Dallas was established in 1907 and the name of the city changed to Arlington in 1916.
