Mansfield is a small town in Tarrant County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,852 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fort Worth-Arlington-Denton metropolitan area. Mansfield is named after Samuel Mansfield, an early settler in the area. The first post office was established in 1848. Mansfield is located at (30.560936, -97.515362). According to the 2010 census, its total area is , making it the smallest town in Tarrant County by land area and also one of its poorest communities economically speaking. According to the 2000 US Census there were 1,596 people residing in Mansfield proper and 3 unincorporated areas nearby: White Sands National Monument (to the south), Anacapa Peninsula (to the east), and Garden Prairie Rancho Apache Nation Indian Reservation (to the north). At that time only about 20% of all residents spoke English as their first language; most residents were Hispanic or Latino immigrants from Mexico and Central America who had come to work on farmlands or ranchos during what was then a booming agricultural period in Texas following Reconstruction days following causes such as political instability caused by new Ulysses S. Grant's presidency and new waves of settlement from Northeastern Europe which included waves of Irish Catholics fleeing social unrest there while American Protestants continued to arrive looking for opportunity amid growing industrialization throughout much of North America including TX even though they were still largely rural Unattached Settlements with few businesses until well into this century because so many people had turned their backs on farming due to competition from petroleum production that became routine as technology advanced ). The 2000 census counted 603 people living within 2 miles of Mansfield proper but excluded White Sands National Monument which straddles both sides of I-35W for about 8 miles making it difficult for people driving westbound Interstate 35W between Dallas/Fort Worth Airport and Mansfield Municipal Airport to reach either side without going through Dallas or Fort Worth;Anacapa Peninsula straddles I-35E & FM 620 for less than a mile making it difficult for drivers traveling eastbound Interstate 35E between Arlington Heights outside Dallas/Fort Worth Airport & Anacapa Peninsula down FM 620 past Garner Hills outside Wichita Falls to get close enough see anything beyond just green fields separating both ends) while Garden Prairie Rancho Apache Nation IndianReservation straddles US 61 just south of Mans Field limits access east &west only thru two entrances off rd near present day intersection of FM 620 & Hwy 377

Mansfield is a small town in Denton County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,047 at the 2010 census. Mansfield is located on the Arkansas River and has been called "The City of Progress." It was founded in 1872 by John F. Mansfield as a trading post for settlers traveling along the river. In 1876, Captain James Hogg donated land to the town for a courthouse and school. In 1887, an express cattle train ran through Mansfield and stopped there for nine days. That same year, the railroad built a depot in town and named it after Captain Hogg. In 1905, A&P grocery store opened in Mansfield and became one of the largest stores in Texas until it closed its doors in 1978. In 1927, Joplin Glass Company opened its first glass plant here. The plant produced nearly all types of windows made in Texas until it closed in 1984. In 1978-1979, Mansfeld held an annual arts festival which included several local bands and art shows from different artists throughout eastern Denton County including Seton Hall University's Gallery of Art & Design (now Barnes Museum), Centennial Park District’s Eagle Rock Sculpture Garden/Center &tennis court complex/ athletic fields/ playground/, Waco Methodist Episcopal Church’s Altar Chapel/, Baylor University’s McLaughlin Center for Dance Research &the Storch Opera House/. On July 15-17th 1979 approximately 10 people were killed when their car careened into a ditch on I-10 east of Mansfield while driving home from picking up groceries; this event would later be known as "The I-10 Crash". The crash remains one of Highway 10's most publicized tragedies ever.. In 1980 Anheuser Busch beer opened up shop here with Budweiser becoming one of only two brands to do so outside North America at that time With over 170 employees . At that time many small businesses such as beauty supply stores shut down due to inflationary forces within Texan economy caused by oil prices quadrupling from $2 per barrel to $4 or more per barrel starting around 1977 .. large companies like AnheuserBusch pulled out because they could no longer afford high inflation rates without losing sales . By 1990 about 30% or all manufacturing jobs had been eliminated within the city limits since 1978 when oil prices started declining nationally
