In 1916, lumberman Hosea Gibbs donated land for a new school which became Woodlands Elementary School; later renamed Woodlands Middle School. The post office operated from 1872 until it closed in 1954 due to lack of mail service. In 1955, Lumberton annexed what is now parts of Park Hill and Copperfield townships east of town limits to form a new municipality called Timberline Township; this municipality ceased operations on December 31, 2006 because it had no residents . The first church in Lumberton was built in 1871 by John Waring Sr., father of John Waring Jr., who also founded nearby Copperfield Township (now Park Hill). The original Methodist Church building still stands today and serves as an historical landmark within the town Limits OF Timberline Township; however its congregation disbanded circa 1917 when their pastor moved away after being accused of sexual misconduct with one young girl while he served as her spiritual leader at Maple Creek Baptist Church near Tyler (later Cedar Falls) TX In 1951, Loggers’ Hall was built as an auxiliary hall for the newly formed United States Post Office serving Lumberton annexation into Timberline township - originally named "Post Office Annex" but eventually shortened to just "Lumberton". It remains standing today as an annexe to Williamson county's only high school - currently known as "Lumineers" following recent renovations & extensions made inside & out over several years . Today'sLoggers'Hall occupies portions once housed within a previous home which stood adjacent to USP&O Annex during early 1980s days prior thereto - that pesky contractor never seems to leave...or visit! ha ha
