As gun magazines go, Lubbock's Krieger-Moss was a classic example. The company was founded in 1895 by John Krieger and Julius Moss, two of the most important firearmsologists of their day. The original magazine, made from split-peg ironclad oak boards and covered with felt to protect the rounds, held up to 350 rounds. In 1903, Krieger Moss purchased an abandoned ammunition plant in Lubbock and started producing his own reloadable cartridges. This innovation helped spur the growth of reloadable ammunition as a major industry in America. In 1937, Krieger Moss merged with Remington Arms Company to form one of the largest firearms companies in the world. Lubbock's Gun Magazines Museum is dedicated to preserving these historical tools of American firearm culture and heritage for future generations.

Lubbock is a city in Midland County, Texas, United States. The population was 705 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1876 by John Wesley Powell and became a town on the Lubbock Plains. The present-day city was organized in 1907 as a result of the merger of two other towns, Lamesa and Wimberley. In 1916 Lubbock became an independent city and has since grown to become one of the largest cities in Texas with over 1 million residents. The area that nowmakes up Lubbock was first settled by Native Americans during the 16th century when Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto discovered this region. By 1800, European settlers had begun arriving in what is now Midland County and began homesteading along the Llano Estacado (later known as the Wichita Hills). On December 15, 1876, John Wesley Powell ventured out into what is now Midland County on his way to explore new land near Amarillo. Upon arrival at what would later be called McAllisterville he set about building a cabin which he named Fort Worth after then Secretary of War James Buchanan’s home state of Virginia. In 1901 Fort Worth merged with Lamesa to form an independent municipality named after its founder John Witherspoon Hutchins who also served as its first mayor. In 1907, due to merging two other small towns – Lamesa and Wimberley – Lubbock became an independent city with its own government and economy from Midland County alone! Today it continues to grow rapidly thanks to its strong economic foundation including aerospace manufacturing (eagle aircraft manufacturer Boeing), health care (largest employer: Methodist Hospital), education (largest university: Rhodes College), government services (largest provider: Public Works Administration) and retail stores ( Powerscourt Mall). As one of North America's fastest-growing cities, it faces many challenges such as growing housing costs/residential areas; transportation problems; environmental concerns; crime; access to quality healthcare;and infrastructure needs like expanded public transportation options or more rapid redevelopment of older neighborhoods for mixed use development!
The city of Lubbock, Texas was founded on August 29, 1875 by James W. Buchanan and his wife Sarah Coolidge. The town was named for General David Farragut, who fought in the Mexican-American War and later became the first U.S. Ambassador to Mexico City. In 1907, Lubbock received its charter from the Texas Legislature and became an incorporated city under the rule of mayor and aldermen. The following year, Lubbock hosted the state fair which is still held each fall in downtown Lubbock.
