In 1918, the United States decided to enter World War I and gun magazines were immediately needed for military purposes. As a result, many magazines stopped being published and became defunct. However, there are some that continue to exist today including the Lubbock Globe-News which is now an online newspaper and also publishes its papers twice a week on Thursdays and Saturdays.
