Longview is a town in Blanco County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,006 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Amarillo–New Mexico Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in Longview was James Wickersham on March 12, 1876. He and his family established a farm on what is now Longview Boulevard. In 1902, he sold his land to Fenton Hargrave and his wife Sarah Jane Barnhart for $10 per acre. They named their new town after Hargrave's mother-in-law, Lillie Ann Longacre. In 1907, Jens Jensen bought some land from Hargrave and built a house thereon which served as the first Post Office in Longview. The town grew quickly due to its good location and its easy access to water supplies that made it an ideal place to settle during the early 20th century." On January 1, 1912 Longview became a city under Order No. 121 of Mayor John Clements (D). After only two months of being in operation long distance telephone service began in Longview with the arrival of National Telephone Company officials on February 3rd under contract from Amarillo! This marked one of the earliest examples of municipally owned services in North America." On November 15th 1916 City Council voted 6-0 to annex Unincorporated Village of Mockingbird because it had failed to build sidewalks or provide other basic public services deemed necessary for growth by City fathers!" On December 5th 1916 Mayor Clements issues ordinance #127 establishing boundaries for present day Longview Township including: east side of FM 620 near junction with Loop 410; south side of US 163 between Highway 9W and FM 620; west side of US 163 between highways 9W and 820." On January 1st 1917LongVIEW CITY DOGS ARE RUNNING FREE!" A short time later when annexation forms full effect all Public Works Department employees become citizens!

Longview is a city in south-central Texas, United States. The population was 104,545 at the 2010 census. At its peak, Longview had a population of over 300 people and a schoolhouse that served grades K-12. In 1907, General George Custer died during an engagement near Longview; his unit was encamped at this location when it came under attack by Native Americans. A plaque commemorating Custer's death stands to this day on Love's Hill east of downtown LongVIEW In 1915, Jens Jensen began developing what would become annexe #2 to Dallas which included much of what is now Longview including Mattole Park and portions of University Hills and Cedar Springs neighborhoods currently located within Urban LeagueDallas . What became known as Annexe #2 became home to many high school students who were moving away from Dallas for economic reasons during World War I due to rationing; student housing projects such as Highland Heights and Deerbrook were also developed around this time In 1922 annexation added Baylor University which then became home to Midwestern State Teachers College before becoming Brazos Technical College with its current name in 1957 In 2006 Arlington County annexed much of eastern charming Cedar Springs neighborhood into Arlington making it part of their jurisdiction
On July 14, 1836, a group of Mormons led by Brigham Young crossed the Great Salt Lake and founded the town of Longview on the eastern edge of what is now Utah. The town rapidly grew, with many new settlers coming to the area during the 1840s. In 1847, Longview was incorporated as a county seat and remained so until 1959. During this time, Longview became an important center for agriculture and manufacturing, with a number of businesses existing in what is now downtown. The population ofLongview peaked at over 80 residents in 1951 and has slowly declined since then; however, it retains some significant historical attractions such as its courthouse square and LDS temple.
