According to the 2000 census, there were 916 people living in Little Elm Township when it was annexed into Johnson County in 2002; however, this number has since decreased to 812 due to growth within Johnson County itself (and also because most of what used to be Little Elm Township has been re-zoned for housing). Most residents are based around Springdale Village which has been their primary residence since incorporation; however there are scattered pockets of residences throughoutJohnson County - such as Hill Country Estates - that may have some residents commuting out of town for work or pleasure purposes (or even just visiting occasionally). According to the 2010 census*, about one-third (331) of all occupants who lived within 0 km radius had no job available during any given week outside their homes: this means that almost all workers who live close by either don't have any other options or can only afford day labor jobs that don't provide health/safety benefits or paid holidays/overtime pay.
