Little Elm, Texas is known for its cowboy culture. The town was founded in 1881 by James W. Hardin and his wife, Eliza. The Hardins were cowboys who ranched in the area. They started a dry goods store in Little Elm and soon other businesses followed. In 1907, the Hardins built a small school which still stands today. They also founded the Little Elm Volunteer Fire Department which remains active to this day. In 1938, handguns became legal in Texas thanks to the Smith-Walther pistol ban which had been passed two years earlier. This law made it illegal for Texans to possess or carry handguns without a license from the local sheriff. In order to comply with this rule, many gun dealers began selling licenses to individuals who would then must keep their rifles and shotguns locked up at all times while they were not using them. These licenses allowed people to purchase firearms but also limited their rights since they could not own any handguns without a license (or even carry them). Through these restrictions and others, Texan gun owners developed an elaborate system of regulations around handgun ownership that remain in place today. This system allows people who are interested in owning a handgun but do not yet have a license to do so but also restricts them from owning any more than three handguns per year (in addition to their rifle or shotgun). Additionally, anyone over 21 years old must obtain an individualized permit from the state police before purchasing any guns whatsoever (even if they only plan on owning one weapon). Little Elm, Texas is a small town in Hudspeth County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,824 at the 2010 census. Little Elm is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The oldest settlement in what is now Little Elm was an Indian village located east of present-day downtown on the banks of the Trinity River. The first white person to set foot in what are now Little Elm and Hudspeth County was George Washington Lamar in 1836 when he and his party explored the area for mineral rights. In 1865, Ayer Pemberton founded the First Baptist Church in Little Elm after coming across a tract of land advertised for sale by James Fenton. By 1870, there were over 20 churches operating near present-day Little Elm. One of Little Elm's most famous citizens was J.C. Penney who opened his first store on Main Street in 1899 before moving to Dallas five years later to open a second store there also called Penney’s Department Store (now Macy’s). In 1907, Penney donated land north of Main Street where he built what would become one of TX'S largest shopping malls – Peachtree Center Mall – which reached its height during the 1990s with more than 2 million sq ft (1002 m²) floor space and anchored by Sears & Roebuck as well as JCPenney stores and department stores like Kmart and Wal-Mart; it became operationally known as “The Great White Way” even though only 30% or so of that mall's square footage constituted white commercial space at any given time (the other 70% consisted of office buildings/residential towers). A major fire destroyed much of peachtree center mall on May 5th 2002 shortly before its tenth anniversary celebrations; however a $25 million renovation project completed late that year reopened portions including several anchor stores along with restaurants such as Olive Garden and Red Lobster;[1] this redevelopment brought new life to an old city center district which had seen little activity since 2000 when many businesses closed due to cost overruns caused by then-new government regulations which impacted real estate development including those affecting small towns like Little Elm

Little Elm, Texas is a small town in Collin County,Texas. The population was 1,890 at the 2010 census. It is located in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. Little Elm has a rich history dating back to the 1840s when it was part of the Mexican Republic of Texas and was known as Pecos City. In 1854, General Sam Houston erected a monument to honor his father, who had fought for independence from Mexico. At that time Little Elm had a population of about 100 people. In 1872, Little Elm became an independent municipality with its own mayor and council. On July 20th of that year, residents voted to secede from Collin County and become an incorporated town under the name of Little Elm with a population of just over fifty people. The first post office opened in Little Elm on October 15th of that year. The townspeople improved their facilities including a schoolhouse which they constructed on land donated by Dr. John Smeaton and Wm Fenton Griggs ( founder of Texan Telephone). This school served as the local drop-off point for students attending nearby Dallas public schools until 1915 when it was replaced by Oak Cliff High School which moved into its new building on Park Drive in 1959 The economy during World War II was dominated by agriculture with many families working in nearby Arlington due to good transportation connections and access to markets such as Corpus Christi or Lubbock After World War II there were few major changes until 1960 when construction began on what would become known as North Park Drive which ran through downtownLittle Elm On December 5th 1966 Little Elm celebrated its one hundredth birthday with parades honoring pioneer women such as Nannie Dossett (founder of Uptown Records) and Eva Longoria In 1984 Big Spring Elementary recess started at 7:00am instead of morning because most parents wanted their children early so they could have more time for homework
In 1836, the Republic of Texas was founded and soon became a major player in the American Revolution. The following year, Texas seceded from the United States, creating its own government under anew Constitution. By 1850, there were more than 1 million Texans living in what is now Texas. The state's economy quickly flourished due to its valuable mineral resources and ranching opportunities. In 1916, during World War I, Texan troops helped lead America into victory against Germany; this event is known as "The Lone Star State’s" role in World War I. In 1938, Governor Prentice manker signed legislation legalizing abortion in Texas; this law was later overturned by the Supreme Court ruling in Brown v. Board of Education (1942).
