In 1875 James Lewis Jr.'s wife Nannie bought an acre of land adjacent to their property for $10 dollars which became known as "the farm." From this purchase proceeds were used to establish the present day school district boundaries which include much of what is now downtown Lewisville including parts of contemporary Slave Road and Broadway streets. In 1890 Drury & Company built the first public building in what would become Lewisville – the Masonic Temple which still stands today as one of the most important civic buildings in town – served both as a courthouse until 1897 when it burned down and then again from 1903-1920; it reopened in 1924 under new ownership before finally being demolished in 1969 following Brazos Valley College's move into nearby Plano; prior to that time it had been used by Lubbock High School until its official dedication on November 6th 1920 with Superintendent Hutton officiating In 1932 Lubbock High School moved out of their original location on West Wall Street into new facilities across Meadowood Drive east of I-35W; they would remain there until having their current campus built west of I-35W just north of FM 19603 in 2006 The two high schools were eventually combined into one large school system with multiple campuses throughout Collin County before becoming part of Dallas ISD upon its establishment in 2008
