All were closed by 1921 when school district consolidation occurred across Harris County although Highland Heights remains operational today as a private school In 1916 two farms that had been acquired by the city were combined into what would become Parkland Agricultural Center; this farm still operates today as Parkland Farms In 1922 an ice cream parlor called "Dum Dum" opened on State Highway 183 south of town; this parlor would eventually close due to law enforcement concerns about child prostitution In 1927 construction began on what would become Memorial Stadium which would serve as home field for both University Of Texas Longhorns football teams until 1998 when they moved to UTEP Stadium In 1935 work began on what would become Baylor University's McLennan Campus located adjacent to Parkland Agricultural Center; this campus remained unnamed until 1949 when it was changed to Baylor University's McLennan Campus
