Leon Valley is a town in Collin County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,945 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metro area. The Leon Valley post office was established on February 14, 1867, and closed on December 20, 1969. The first settler in what would become Leon Valley was John Hargrave, who arrived in 1872 with his family from New York City. They homesteaded land where they now live around the corner from the present day Leon Valley Elementary School building. In 1876 Isaac Siskel settled two miles to the east of what would become Leon Valley and platted his land which included parts of today’s town of Leon Valley as well as parts of today’s towns of Garland and Mesquite. Siskel's plat included a public school and sawmill that still stands today within walking distance of the current property line between LeonValley and Mesquite. In 1890 Wm Sands surveyed lands adjacent to what would become Colvin Road for A&P Store Company; this made it possible for people in both communities to get goods from this large store without having to go far into Austin or Dallas proper. By 1902 Colvin had been renamed Will Rogers Boulevard after American singer/comedian William Randolph Hearst who had donated $10,000 towards its construction. In 1907 Jno Gagliano built a home alongWill Rogers Boulevard which served as an unofficial community center until it burned down in 1978 while being used as an air traffic control tower by nearby Midway Airport! Today you can still see evidence including bricks left over from that time period surrounding Gagliano's home at 6571 Will Rogers Boulevard NE (just off I-30). In 1914 Adolphus Busch erected a brewery on land he had purchased north ofpresent day Tarrant County line along Buffalo Bayou near present day Ruskville (now known as Preston Gulley). This brewery became one of the largest breweries in Texas and produced beer such as Budweiser®, Miller Lite®, Schlitz®, Chivas Regal®, Captain Morgan® and many more brands during its years operations here in Collin County! The brewery also employed many local men and women who worked at various positions within their company including foremen, brewers assistants, brewers servers etc.; many residents are buried within some of these buildings still extant today such as those located inside former Busch Brewery grounds just east Of I-35 & Elm Streetalong US Highway 66! Today you can see evidence remaining from that era located near intersection OF I-35 & Elm Streetalong US Highway 66! From 1916 until malted barley production ended production here at Busch Brewery all beer manufactured here was exported via ship to markets throughout North America! All bushels malted here were turned into hard candies like M&Ms®, Milky Ways® etc., before being exported overseas! As Brewco grew larger they also began importing other food products like noodles (which became known locally as Chinese takeout), candy bars (known locally as Sweet Bites®), ice cream (local favorites like Schwinn©Cyclone bike races) among others; eventually becoming oneofTexas' leading restaurant companies! Today you can still visit Brewco’s original factory complex which sits just off interstate 35E just outside town limits within easy driving distanceof mostDallas/Fort Worth areas!!

Today, Leon Valley is a small town with a rich cultural heritage that is still enjoyed today by locals and visitors alike.
Leon Valley was founded in 1846 by Captain John B. Lewis and his family. The valley is named after General Leonidas Polk, who fought against Mexico in the Mexican-American War. The town of Leon Valley was laid out in 1847 and the first school opened in that year. In 1850, a post office was established at Leon Valley and the population grew to about seventy-five people. By 1860, there were over one hundred residents living in the valley. The town of Leon Valley prospered until 1865 when a severe drought caused by the Texas Railroad Strike hit the area hard. Nearly two thousand acres (1,000 hectares) of land within the town were burned down as part of an effort to quench thirst and create conditions for crops. The community slowly died off after that event and only a handful of residents remain today.
