The ranch includes several thousand acres (100 km2) of rolling hills covered with oak trees and other hardwood forests. A two-mile trail leads visitors through these woods to visit the Butterflies' Lair visitor center where they can view live butterflies for sale or rent from various vendors during daily operations from 9am to 5pm; as well as purchase snacks and drinks for picnic lunch service inside the visitor center itself. Another popular attraction in Leander is its annual Arts Festival which features local arts & crafts exhibitors from throughout the Panhandle region; as well as several musical shows throughout the weeknights leading up to ArtFest weekend (October 8-10).
