The history of airguns in Leander, Texas can be traced back to the early 1800s. Shooting matches were held at local agricultural fields andlivestock barns, where participants would use pistols, shotguns and rifles to shoot balls into the air. One of the first successful attempts at using airguns was made in 1892 by a group of friends led by L.V. Barron. They used two shotgun blasts together to fire a ball into the air and watch it fly away. This demonstration showed that airguns could be used safely and effectively for target shooting. In 1916, Harnett Air Service started operations in Leander with three single-seater planes providing delivery service for ammunition and other supplies to various farms in north central Texas. The company soon became known as one of the most important providers of aviation services in east Texas. In 1935, Harnett merged with Two-O-One Airways Inc., which became known as TXR (Texas Revolution Airlines). TXR continued to provide passenger service until its dissolution in 1951. During World War II, Leander was home to North American Aviation Company’s (NAA) largest aircraft plant on I-10 near Dallas/Ft Worth Airport; this plant produced P-51 Mustang fighters for USAAF pilots flying over Nazi Germany during World War II. The Leanders were successful at starting their own airgun business, and soon became well-known throughout the region for their quality products. In 1898, they moved to what is now downtown Leander, opening a large manufacturing plant there. From here, they continued to produce high-quality airguns until 1957.

On July 2, 1836, John Bigham founded what would become Brazos Baptist Church in Leander after moving from Missouri. On November 15, 1865, Antonio Jaramillo died suddenly while leading a cavalry patrol through town; this event is generally considered to be the beginning of apoptosis or death by old age in Texas due to its high incidence then of chronic diseases such as tuberculosis and typhoid fever. In 1861 John Wesley Powell traveled through Austin- Griffin County on his historic journey upriver to find oil wells potential sites for drilling under federal jurisdiction but did not visit any towns along his route other than Garland where he met George Custer on December 7th at Buffalo Gap Creek Campground nearpresent day Barton Springs State Park before continuing his journey downriver into Mexico City on December 11th when he discovered an oil field off Rancho del Rio de la Salada east of San Antonio de Bexar County which later became known as Midland School District No. 1 well pad #1 The Houston Field Hunt began about this time also with prospectors coming from all over US West Texas looking for oil boreholes so much so that Wernher von Braun used some Leander property during World War II for storage tanks used during the build up to Operation Red Flag that ended with Hiroshima

Leander is a town in Waller County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,546 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1836 by Captain James Bowie and his family as part of the rancho known as La Vallee. The first post office was established in Leander on November 10, 1837. The history of Leander goes back to 1836 when Captain James Bowie and his family founded the rancho La Vallee west of present-day Leander. La Vallee became known for its grazing lands, water resources, and hunting opportunities. In 1846, Bowie sold all but 7 acres (24 hectares) of La Vallee Rancho to John Hoggarty for $10USD per acre ($ million today). In 1865, John Denton married Sarah Mott and purchased additional land from Bowman for $1USD per acre ($ million today). By 1870, Denton had developed much of what is now Leander into a small town with a population of around 100 people. When he died in 1880, his wife Sarah continued to run the town until her death in 1902. Denton's daughter Sarah Ladd took over running the business until her death in 1924; after that time it passed through several women before it came under the ownership of local rancher Harry Baughle until his passing in 1975. In 1984 Baughle's granddaughter Donna bought it from him and has since been running it as an historical museum open to the public since then.. Baughle also donated many pieces of equipment used during cattle drives past Leander years ago along with negatives and other documents which are currently being restored by volunteers!

The town was founded in 1881 by cattle ranchers and farmers who named it after Leander County, Nebraska, where they were from. In 1907, Leander became one of five towns in Dallas County to be incorporated as a municipality. The population of Leander peaked at around 1,500 in 1910 and declined significantly over the next several decades. however, it continued to exist until it vanished completely during World War II when all its residents were evacuated to other parts of Texas for military service.
