From its original location on Commerce Street, OIC evolved into a multi-million dollar business that continued to provide quality eye care products until the late 1990s. Today, OIC is most recognizable for its line of safety glasses, which are sold in more than 20 countries. In 1937, Union Glass Company opened a store in League City serving customers from all over Texas and Mexico. The company operated out of a single building for more than fifty years until it closed in 1995. During that time, Union Glass produced some of the most popular optical products such as sunglasses and contact lenses. In addition to their product lines, Union also supplies glassblowers with window frames and other components for their workshops. Today’s history of optical accessories begins with Southeastern Dental Supply Company (SEDCO). Established in 1977 by Dr. John Wertheimer and his wife Dianne Wertheimer, SEDCO was one of the earliest suppliers of dental equipment and supplies including both dentists’ tools and equipment for general practice patients. Over the years they have expanded their offerings greatly including lens manufacture as well as medical optics items such as MRI machines and CT scanners! They continue to serve our community today with an expansive inventory at their two stores located in Plano & Richardson County respectively!

League City, Texas is a city in Midland County, Texas, United States. The population was 927 at the 2010 census. League City is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex and is located adjacent to Arlington, capital of the state of Texas. It has a humid subtropical climate (Köppen: Cfa) with very hot summers and mild winters. The area that would become League City was originally settled by farmers in the late 1800s who sold their land at low prices to lumber companies looking for an accessible location for manufacturing timber products. In 1906, John Pemberton bought 1,000 acres (500 ha) near League City from lumber company owners and began developing it into a commercial town. The town's first building was a Methodist church built in 1908. By 1912, League City had developed into a small but thriving community with retail stores, restaurants, churches and schools. In 1928 Union Pacific Railroad built its largest depot in North America east of Amarillo on the west side of I-35W just outside present-day League city limits. This depot served as the nucleus around which development continued throughout the 1930s and 1940s as Union Pacific moved more jobs out of Amarillo and towards Dallas/Fort Worth based on plans by President Franklin D Roosevelt to bring heavy industry to postwar America. During World War II over 5 million tons (45 metric tonnes) of munitions were produced at five plants within two miles (3 km) of League City through 1943; these plants included three shipyards producing Liberty Ships while two others made planes and artillery shells according to war production data kept by Army Corps of Engineers during 1945-1946 examination After World War II ended there were no new jobs available so many people left local communities such as League City for better paid positions elsewhere in TX or NM however some remain today behind our walls trying hard to maintain this beautiful town we call home

League City is a city in Texas, United States. The population was 33,922 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area. League City was founded by John Wesley Hogg in 1876 as a small agricultural town on the banks of the Colorado River. A cotton gin and several stores were built soon after, and by 1880 it had a population of 100 people. In 1881, Hogg organized what would become the Texas Cotton Exchange, which helped to spur economic development in League City and nearby Hudspeth County. In 1907, Hogg donated land to create League City Park; today it is home to both league city FC soccer team (founded in 2007) as well as a number of other events including annual Fourth Of July fireworks displays and rodeo competitions. In 1986, Republican incumbent Mayor Tom Barrett won re-election with over 60% of the vote despite being challenged by then-Democratic challenger Jack Devine; however that year's mayoral election saw some irregularities that continue to be talked about to this day: ballots were found altered or removed from polling places before polls opened, voting machines were used for other purposes throughout the race (i.e., Devine got almost 50% more votes than Barrett), and various campaign contributions from local businesses were not declared until after the election results were announced. That year also saw the first cricket game ever played in Texas when ICL Tigers vs AFL Rangers was contested between two teams from League City at Brown Stadium; Rangers lost 3–0. In 1992 mayor Tom Barrett resigned due to health problems after serving four terms; he was succeeded by his sister Jane Barrett who served until 2001; during her tenure there was significant redevelopment of League City Park with an addition of nearly 30 acres (12 hectares) of parkland. In 2000 Jane Barrett married developer/politician Dan Patrick who became Mayoralty candidate for Austin in 2002 but lost to term limits set by state law; she currently resides outside Austin. On December 2nd 2005 Dan Patrick indicted on felony charges stemming from his role as owner and operator of House Bill 2 which would have banned abortions except in cases where rape or incest occurred< ref target=”_blank” /> In 2006DanPatrick ran for reelection against Sally Mulkey but failed miserably - only 9% outpolling her opponent On November 5th 2006 District 4 Councilwoman Kathy Weir defeated Steve Adler 54%-44%. Kathy Weir represents Ward 7 encompassing most parts of downtown within its boundaries
