The early years of World War I were difficult for League City because much production stopped due to shortages caused by war efforts elsewhere in the United States not just within Texas but nationally too). However business picked up when prices plummeted after Treaty Of Paris ended WWI which brought new demand for goods produced by local farmers that had been recession stricken since then! After World War II some companies closed down while others relocated away but many local families kept their businesses going throughthe 1970s until they closed again due to environmental concerns brought about by oil exploration! In the late 1990s things changed when a company called Ameriquest announced it would be investing $1 billion into distressed properties throughout North America calling them "The New Frontier". However Ameriquest later retracted those comments stating that they only wanted land within 1 mile (2 km) of each other - something that did not sit well with some people who felt like they had lost everything! On October 12th 2006 Hurricane Rita made landfall onshore east of league city destroying homes along with numerous farms/ranches inside hurricane radius making even more concern among locals about how all this could impact their lives should another storm hit! After dayslong negotiations between government officials and organized protestors numbering into hundreds plus individuals league city finally emerged victorious with promises from federal officials regarding training for emergency responders etcetera Unfortunately less than two weeks later Hurricane Rita struck again causing massive damage once again north of town leaving many displaced yet still holding out hope that things will improve
