The first airguns were invented in 1892 by George Washington Williams and his son, Samuel. In 1903, Walt Kelly created an illustrated children’s book called Airgun which featured an airgun that shoots pellets. In 1934, Julius Erlich introduced what is now known as an “Air Gun Safe” into the market which allowed users to store their airguns safely inside their home or office. In 1919, the Austin American-Statesman reported that a man had shot and killed three people at a country club in League City. In 1927, an airgun manufacturer located in League City started making rifles and pistols under the name of "Texas Airguns." The company produced over 100 firearms between 1927 and 1959. In 1934, League City incorporated as a city with a population of about 20,000 people. In 1941, Texas Airguns became the first airgun manufacturing company to be licensed by the Texas Department of Commerce. The post-World War II years were difficult for airgun manufacturers in Texas due to restrictive state laws which limited their sales opportunities. However, in 1948 Texas Airguns resumed production after being license by the US government to produce military surplus ammunition. In 1957, Texas Airguns switched its operations from handguns to rifles and shotguns. At this time it was one of only two US companies producing both types of artillery fire arms (the other being Colt). On October 3rd 1969 League City experienced its first ever mass shooting when four young men were shot dead at an outdoor pool party. This event is often considered to be the start of gun violence inLeague City

In 1898, Charles Whitman caused mass panic when he opened fire on students at University of Texas at Austin with his high-powered rifles from his tower atop Tower Bridge (now part of Austin360). With only three shots left in his magazine after 10 minutes of firing, Whitman had already killed 14 people before being fatally wounded by police officers who arrived on scene just in time! After this event public opinion shifted significantly against guns and many states outlawed new firearms until 1934 when they were finally repealed due to concerns about potential misuse and control over civilians by well-meaning’ but misguided lawmakers! Interestingly enough, despite these restrictions not being put into place for another 50 years+, Automatic Rifle Technology (ART) had progressed far enough that during World War II Japanese soldiers were able to fire short bursts from machineguns while lying prone under cover after sniping enemy soldiers from ambush positions!

The city of League City, Texas was founded in 1881 by James H. Pool and his brother, John W. Pool. The city was named after a creek that ran through the area. The first post office in League City was established in 1885. In 1907, the city became a town and then an incorporated municipality in 1913. In 1936, the city became a suburb of Dallas.
