Lakeway is a small town in El Paso County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,521 as of the 2010 census. The community is located on the east side of the Colorado River and north of Interstate 10. It is part of the El Paso–Houston metropolitan area. The name "Lakeway" comes from Austin's original name for the river: Lamar Creek (from Spanish las rías de la Cerda). Lakeway was platted in 1872 by James Blease, a landowner in nearby Commerce City. In 1875, Wm. Hogg surveyed and named it after Austin's friend and business associate Colonel Arthur Ashe Purchased land around present-day Lakeway in 1892; his heirs continue to own large tracts within its boundaries today. In 1912, Drayson Ladd opened an operating agency for general practitioner healers called Ladd's Health Centre which became one of El Paso County's most successful businesses during that era. It closed in 1999 but remnants can still be found at 4202 FM 517 S., just south of I-10 and 7 miles east of downtown El Paso. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , all federal lands administered by the Department of Interior under management by NPS (National Park Service). As well as being considered part of El Paso County proper, much property within municipal limits borders Starr Pass National Monument adjacent to Interstate 10 on its eastern border and Lone Star Ranch State Park on its western border; both are operated by NPS with noncommercial access only from Site A at Lone Star Ranch State Park near junction I-10/US 191 southbound exit 68 while also accessible continued from Site B across US 191/NPS Rd 218 eastbound exit 3010 off US 90/I-10 concurrent with SR 281 separating Starr Pass National Monument & Lone Star Ranch State Park

His system consisted of a series of metal rings that would fit around the frames of those particular glasses and hold them in place securely without having to remove them each time we changed our appearance or went out into public. This innovative concept allowed us to see clearly even while indoors with little or no embarrassment or fuss!

The Kodak Tri-X camera used a special lens called a "triangle lens." This lens allowed shooters to take photos with great accuracy because it had three focal points (the three corners).
Lakeway was founded in 1872 by Capt. John T. Hagenbeck and his wife, Elizabeth. The town grew rapidly after its incorporation, becoming a leading center for the livestock industry and later for the oil and gas industry. In 1984, Lakeway became the successor city to Midland, Texas as the capital of West Texas. Today, Lakeway is a thriving community with a rich history that has influenced both Midland and West Texas to this day.
Lakeway was founded in 1836 by Captain Edwin V. Austin and his two boys, who named it for the Clear Fork of the Trinity River. The area around Lakeway was ranchland until the mid-19th century, when settlers began to arrive in large numbers and develop the land. In 1870, a post office was established at what is now Lakeway, and by 1903, there were over 100 businesses in the town. The population reached 5,000 by 1907, but declined during World War I and World War II due to military production in nearby Dallas. The town returned to its high levels of activity by the late 1960s and early 1970s as a result of technology development in nearby Dallas. In 2002, Lakeway became part of Dallas suburb Irvinginton after being annexed by that city from neighboring Garland.
