The history of ammunition in Lakeway, Texas dates back to the 1860s. Ammunition was first used in the area by the Cavalry and artillery units of the Confederate States of America. In 1871, a company of riflemen from Fort Worth joined forces with a group of soldiers from Camp Bowie to form the First Baptist Church Rifle Company. The rifle company soon became known as The Riflemen’s Battalion and served in various engagements throughout South Texas during the Civil War. As violence increased inTexas, early ammunition manufacturers located in Wichita Falls began producing firearms ammunition for use by state militias and troops fighting in Central Texas. In 1876, rifleman from Fort Worth formed another battalion within The Riflemen’s Battalion and this time they chose to name their unit The Mounted Rifles. This unit fight under General James Kenedy at San Jacinto River Bridge on April 14th, 1875 against Mexican troops led by Colonel Antonio López de Santa Anna. During this engagement, 5 mounted rifles were lost including 2 officers (1st Lieutenant Burton Witherspoon and 1st Sergeant John Armstrong). Afterward, Captain Edward Hargrave organized his regiment into two companies which he called Company A (later renamed Battery D) and Company B (later renamed Battery M). These companies fought at Pleasant Hill on July 6th & 7th1876 where they destroyed an enemy force composed of over 20 men with only 4 casualties among them! Captain Hargrave also earned distinction for conspicuous gallantry when leading his battalion through intense gunfire onto an enemy line during Battle Of Olney on November 9th1877 while protected by 12 cannonballs! In 1879, local farmers started growing cotton near what is now downtown Lakeway. This crop required a large amount of powder to keep up with demand so early ammo manufacturers had To produce rounds specifically for cotton production? It wasn't until after World War I that Ammo production moved away from Cotton towards other crops such as wheat and soybeans? By 1922 there were 3 ammo factories operating around town: Winchester Ammunition Factory; Armoury Ammunition Factory Incorporated; & Ballistics Research Corporation? Armament continued being produced until October 1938 when it was finally discontinued due to regulation changes made by NRA? At its peak capacity Winchester acquired about 25% market share for centerfire shooting cartridges? Prior to its closure most manufacturing took place at Hunt Manufacturing plant just east off US 90 north of town.?

Lakeway is a small town in Tarrant County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,834 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fort Worth–Arlington Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town began as a post office on November 15, 1879, and was named after Lieutenant-Governor James Fenton's ranch near present day Lakeway. A post office and store were built in what is now the heart of the town in 1881. In 1909, the name was changed to Lakeway because of its location on Clear Fork Creek near what is now Loop 375N (U.S. Route 20). The creek also served as the town's name until it was renamed in honor of General Douglas MacArthur during World War II when he became Military Governor of Texas. Lakeway has been an agricultural community since before there were any towns around hereabouts. There are still a few farms operation today that produce hay, cotton, wheat and other crops; however those days are long gone for most everyone but a very few select families that have owned these properties for generations or longer! Most people who live here these days either work out west or down south where they can find good paying jobs with companies like ExxonMobil and BPTexaco just outside Fort Worth or right next door to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport! All this change taking place while our small town keeps growing every day - we’re blessed with some pretty amazing residents who make all this possible!

Lakeway is a city in the US state of Texas. The population was 2,521 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat for Travis County. The first people to inhabit this area were the Caddo and Wichita, who hunted and collected game from what is now Lakeway. They built their first permanent camp on the east bank of Coyote Creek in 1827. The name "Lakeway" was given to the creek by General John Troup during his campaign against Mexico in 1835. In 1861, when Fort Worth was founded, most of Travis County became part of that new town. A few years later, however, Lakeway began to grow rapidly because of its location at an important trade route between Houston and Dallas. By 1875, it had over 1,000 residents and had become an important commercial center for East Texas. In 1907 a railroad was built through central Texas linking Lakeway with Tyler and Dallas/Fort Worth; this made it even more important as a commercial center and led to its nickname "The Hub." However, World War II changed all that when Interstate 10 was constructed through central Texas connecting Austin with Houston via San Antonio. This created a huge traffic jam on I-10 south of downtown which caused many businesses to close their doors or move away from Lakeway altogether because they could not compete withHouston's prices or quality of life. In 1948, after 40 years as a small town without much change except for occasional growth due to economic development outside of townspeople themselves started Highlands Ranch near present day Glenpool (east side). There has been little outward movement since then other than industry sprawl westward along I-10 including several large shopping malls located within 15 miles each of downtown Loop 610 outside Loop 610 City Limits
Lakeway was founded in 1845 on the east side of Trinity River. The town was named for Colonel George W. Lake, a landowner and legislator who donated land to the town. The first post office opened in 1846. In 1868, the city of Tyler was incorporated by vote of residents, and Lakeway became its municipal center. In 1907, Tyler annexed neighboring Decatur County and Lakeway became a full city. In 1951, the city merged with Austin to form the current metropolitan area.
