Lake Jackson Rifle and Pistol Club, Inc. was incorporated in 1934 and the first pistol class meet took place on September 10th of that year. The rifle club was organized in 1938. On October 5th of 1938, a meeting were held to discuss the organization of a rifle club. It was decided that the rifle club would be subordinate to the pistol club and meetings would take place at the pistol range instead of at the clubhouse. The first rifle match ever held in Lake Jackson took place on October 20th of 1938 with thirty-six entries. In 1942, a new shotgun range was opened and it became an important factor for growth within the rifle club as well as for shooting matches outside of town which were now being hosted by the pistol club. In 1948, a cedar barrel sawmill was built across from the golf course which provided employment for many individuals within town and helped out with finances needed to keep things running smoothly within both organizations. This also helped to promote firearm ownership within townspeople as well as enhancing relationships between township officials and local gun enthusiasts who often contributed time, equipment or money towards making their local community one step closer to becoming involved in firearms competition through organized shooting events/meetings/clubs
Lake Jackson, Texas is located in Houston County and was named for General James K. Polk in 1845. The county seat is Huntsville. As of the 2010 census, the population was 134,895. The city of Huntsville has a population of 67,362 as of 2018. The first people to live in what is now Lake Jackson were the Timucua Indians who hunted and fished there until 1792 when they left for Florida due to Spanish Inquisition persecution. The Creek Indians came to the area about 1812-1814 and built their homes on Big Cypress creek near present day Jacksboro Rd.. They called it "Moccasin country" because their shoes would be made from moccasin snakeskin which they could trade with the Spaniards. In 1845, General James K. Polk nominated Lake Jackson as his final resting place for President Polk's father-in-law John Fenton who had died in 1844 at Fort Bend County Jail while awaiting trial on treason charges related to his role leading the Texas Revolution against Mexico. On May 13th, 1846 General Polk buried John Fenton at Liberty Hill Cemetery near Huntsville with full military honors including bugle calls and cannon fire from artillery units stationed nearby as part of ceremonies honoring both father and son Lake Jackson experienced some growth during World War II when many local companies produced munitions for America's war effort including Armour & Co., PPG Industries, Phelps Dodge Corporation and Swen Steamship Company among others Today Lake Jackson remains a bedroom community with its concentration around Huntsville’s downtown district which includes several popular restaurants such as Whoopie Pie Place (formerly White Castle), Beacheside Grille & Lounge (now Jamba Juice) and Longhorn Steakhouse (now Red Lobster). Other popular amenities include an outdoor pool, tennis courts/pelicans/fishing lakeshore access, golf courses - one being operated by private owners – shopping centers containing large anchor stores like Sears & Roebuck along Witham Blvd., fast food joints like Carl's Jr., Sonic Drive-In etc., professional sports teams - most notably the Rockets (Houston Rockets) basketball team playing their home games at Toyota Center -and numerous parks complete with swimming pools, playgrounds and picnics areas all within walking distance

As part of this change, Kerr County included much of what is now Lake Jackson within its boundaries. With this new designation came an increase in development as farmers began to move into the area to raises crops and build homes. By 1930, there were over 100 residents living in Lake Jackson with many businesses supplying goods and services to surrounding areas including Waco and Austin. In 1935, lakefront property on the north side of I-10 was acquired by Harvey Mudd Company which would later become Google Incorporated In 1937, during World War II , Lake Jackson played host to one of the most significant events in its history when Ulysses S Grant made his historic visit to Texas After his visit he ordered General Robert E Lee's army moved out of Arlington Cemetery so that they could be closer to their headquarters at Valley Forge where they awaited orders from Washington D C . LakeJackson also saw other notable events such as John F Kennedy being assassinated outside his presidential campaign headquarters on Good Friday 1963 Additionally during this time period several hundred African American workers were brought over from Louisiana for work at munitions plants throughout Texas
Lake Jackson was named after the then-Spanish emperor, Santa Anna. The area around the current city of Jacksonville was part of Mexico when Texas came into being in 1845. In 1849, Houston and the other Texan cities seceded from Mexico and formed their own state, Texas. The new state needed a name for its capital and selectedJacksonville as it was thought to be a more auspicious choice than Austin or San Antonio because of its history with Spain.
