Kyle, Texas is a city located in Midland County, Texas, United States. The population was 753 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Wichita Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first post office in Kyle was established on November 1, 1881. The present incarnation of Kyle was platted as a town on May 15, 1907 and named after then-Senator Kyle Barnes (R-Texas). On October 3, 1928, the town changed its name to Kyle Illinois and severed all ties with Texas. With that change in state government came a new era for the city with more aggressive development by local officials who saw potential in the area's resources including oil and gas reserves nearby. The growth of ranching and farming led to an increase in employment withinKyle over the years as farmers bought up land around town for grazing purposes or built homes along Denton Highway/U.S.-Mexico Road. In 1950 citizens of Kyle petitioned for incorporation as their own village; this request was granted on February 5 that year with the name "New Kyle" being given to what became today's downtown core of the City limits - originally known as State Street - while other portions were annexed into current day Midland County through annexation treaties between various municipalities at that time including: Commerce (1892), Mount Pleasant (1910), Garden Heights (1922), Clarendon Hills (1924) and Wheatley Heights (1945). By 1960 there were only 8 residents living withintheCity Limits while nearly all developed areas had more than 20 residents when it merged withMidland County in 2000 following passage of an act by then-Governor Rick Perry which created Wichita Falls metropolitan area consisting of both villages along with Midland Township except for portions lying south of US 71 beyond FM 620 which remained under New Kyle governance until recently becoming part of Huntsville TX under unified county government control again effective July 1st 2016 Since its incorporation as a municipality back in 1950 – even prior to taking its current form – Kyle has always been an active community engaged in many ways: from hosting annual events such as Kiwanis Club meetings during summertime or Christmas Tree lighting displays throughout December; sponsoring civic programs such as Mothers' Day Pancake Breakfast or Fourth Of July barbecue; participating activelyin several fund drives each year like those benefiting cancer research or children’s charities; developing partnershipships both locally and nationally with organizations like Project Reachout which helps low-income students attend college%; marketing itself heavily online through social media platforms like Facebook & Twitter (@kyledotcom)uglytourism poster campaign currently running thruout fall 2017 targeting families visiting our wonderful City Limits during vacation period!

However, much has since been restored thanks to donations from individuals and businesses throughout our community over the years!Today’s economy relies heavily on agriculture – especially ranching – which remains a mainstay of local life despite current challenges posed by global warming and other environmental issues (e.g., drought).
