Kingsville is a small town in Williamson County, Texas, United States. It was founded in 1876 by prospectors and settlers, and has been an agricultural center since the early 20th century. The community has experienced growth in recent years due to its location within the Austin metropolitan area and its proximity to major research universities. The first scopes were bought and used by farmers in Kingsville during the 1840s. In 1857, George A. Smith started a survey of Williamson County for the railroad company. He used a telescope to help him map the county's surface features. When he was finished, he donated his telescope to the town of Kingsville as part of their thanks for his help during the survey process. In 1896, Drury Sieving opened his successful medical supplies store at 424 North Main Street in Kingsville. This store became a popular tourist destination because it had a large glass window that allowed customers to view instruments made from telescopes and other astronomical objects being sold by Drury Sieving and his sister-in-law, Mrs. John Dickey (1848-1924). In 1924, Drury Sieving donated all of his profits from his store to the Kingvillians Historical Society which still operates today as one of the town's few remaining businesses open past 10am on weekdays! In 1936, Vernon Hoyle opened up what would become one of America's first chain auto dealerships at 7200 W Airport Rd in Kingsville; this dealership would become known as "Hoyle's". In 1966, Harry Emerson Fossey began production on Deer Park Ranch farm animal feed plants nearKingsville; this gave impetus for local farming families to begin growing vegetables for local grocery stores instead of buying feed from out-of-state sources. This seed money helped start what is now Daisy Mae’s Garden produce stand next door at 6752 Airport Rd., where you can purchase fresh produce year round! Today Daisy Mae’s still provides fresh produce daily from many different locations throughout Dripping Springs/Kingvill
